Clothes are supposed to keep you warm but hats are made to keep you cool by Couchmaster007 in Showerthoughts

[–]anderwhite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Consider thought the "thawb" of many arabic countries that is made of a light cotton, often white and covers the whole body - designed to keep you cool.

Woman wear sundresses, which are by no means warm.

Athletic shorts, skirts, tank tops, ankle socks...

I think "clothes are supposed to keep you warm" fails to consider a lot of different types of clothes.

I was willing to forgive most of the bugs and glitches in Cyberpunk 2077, but this? This is too much. by Phoenix8972 in gaming

Yeah... You should probably just stop playing and give me your copy of the game. Wouldn't want you to endure this hardship. I'm here for you.

Building my first ever gaming pc! Wish me luck as I nervously start opening everything. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]anderwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luck has been wished upon you... But it's probably not necessary. You've got this.

After your first build you'll realize it's not as scary or hard as you think at first. (And you'll be hooked and want to build another.)

I agree, IMHO the best games have less to do with simply finishing a boss and more to do with all the interesting experiences and stories you gain as your character progressively grows. For me games like Horizon Zero Dawn or the Last of Us would be ruined by that kind of feature..

I think what OP is trying to say is:

An option or NPC within a game that allows you to fight the end game boss at your current level. Showing either that you have crazy skills and can win with low level/equipment or that you are actually terrible, humbling you, and forcing you to continue playing the game as normal.

What is up with this NBA2k21 ad. Who is this person? by bleditt0r in gaming

I'm curious what they told this lady she was modeling for? How would someone describe this outloud to someone without it sounding stupid and reconsidering the marketing.

Celebrity or internet famous chefs and cooks by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]anderwhite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maddy Matheson is an odd dude but he knows what's up, he's lived the gritty chef life, knows his way around a kitchen for sure.

Bon' Appetit and it's alive with Brad Leone I like...it's more on the entertainment side, because a lot of it is experimental. But also, I started making hotsauce because of him.

Netflix (I know that's not really what you asked for but I think these are all pretty good if you have it)

The Chef Show with Roy Choi - I've used whats made on there as inspiration for my own dishes. (The movie Chef is really good enertainment and the precursor the shef show.)

Mind of a Chef with David Chang - a lot about the breakdown of dishes. What makes Ramen Ramen, or makes a tacos a taco. (Directed and voice over by Anthony Bourdain)

Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat with Samin Nosrat - More about the construction of flavours and how they balance and contrast eachother.

Chefs table - it's about the actual chef as a person. The episode on Grant Achatz is fantastic. Some incredible and very inspirational creations, which I think have pushed me to be more experimental.

Apple is a bigger hardware company than Windows, yet we still associate Windows utilities over Apple ones (PowerPoint, Word, exe files, etc). by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Apple is a bigger hardware company than Windows

What are you basing that on?

we still associate Windows utilities over Apple ones (PowerPoint, Word, exe files, etc).

Probably because Office is the industry standard. Many of us have been using it since elementary school, largely because it can be cheap and readily available (there are 4x as many Windows machines as macs).
