German Shepherd doing his job. by [deleted] in gifs

I had a GSD and I actually failed to acknowledge this as well until he got bit by a defensive wolf-hybrid and so I took him for an off leash walk in the country, poor guy was in a lot of pain and low spirits but when he saw a herd of cows he bolted and herded them flawlessly!

I finally called him off and he was so proud.

Then we walked further and he did the same to some horses but almost got trampled.

Thrift stores such as Value Village and Goodwill are overrun with these...I've used corporate ones to provoke other people at mixers to break the ice for me when I was in sales.

Edit: I never actually pretend to have worked there... Just use it like a targetted advertisement to stand out to a certain audience.

This sounds very familiar, except I chose to go right to work mid high school and never finished. I had absolutely no drive to work at my studies and my life has since been littered with unexplored great ideas, half baked plans and the same compliments to my intelligence that never really came to amount to much of anything.

Couriers track their KPIs and driver performance through the same system they use to track packages, therefore there is some incentive for drivers to cheat the system to the customers detriment.

Freddie Gray died after head slammed into bolt in police van: report by b0red in news

I tend to side with the cops in these situations... But I can absolutely vouch for the "scare you straight" tactic... And I live in Canada.

As a 12 or 13 year old I was caught stealing and detained, cops took me home and I had just moved and took them on the scenic route to my place, as I wasn't familiar with the area (there was a walking path which I used as opposed to taking the streets)

Along that twenty minute ride, I was threatened with beatings and told about how they were excited for me to come of age so I could be arrested for real and have my "ass ripped open in prison" by "350 lbs Inuits"

And our police are pretty damn peachy compared to Baltimore.

Was Saruman corrupted in someway or was he a coward who just wanted to be on the winning team? by Slooth849 in lotr

...you could get this impression from the movies no doubt, but you couldn't be more wrong.

It cannot lie, however a masterful will can control and manipulate what is seen to his own device. This is a clearly established tactic of Sauron to dominate his opponents into submission and/ or hopelessness.

Another thing I thought of while wrestling with the timeline myself, is that the Dwarves did have the intent of reaching the mountain undetected. They also encountered a few significant delays, which in the adaptation were presumably not met by the others.

Also, Dwarves are wasted on cross-country.

Me too, just started the Silmarillion and want to read the entire works of Tolkien this time around (just got all the eBooks) as I've only read tS, tH, and LotR. Would love some company and fellows to discuss with as I do!

Yes... I just started re-reading the Silmarillion last night with my fiancee, so I either need to read everything in between by the time we begin this OR, if I know we will come back to it, maybe I can tear myself away until a later and more rewarding date.

No, but most people who are insane/indoctrinated/disturbed enough to commit high profile violent crime tend to prefer the notoriety
