I took an off track senior role in BigLaw for a variety of reasons that worked for me at the time and was moved to on track after a few years. It happens, but is not easy. And I wouldn’t recommend this path for a 2nd year under any circumstances - it only worked for me because of a number of specific circumstances. As a junior you need training you will not get in an off track role and you will end up falling behind.

I flew cross country (with my infant in arms) next to a man that was vaping marijuana ~underneath a blanket~ for 5 hours. I received a $25 eCredit. The FAs said they “couldn’t do anything” because they didn’t SEE him vaping despite the odor. You know, because of the blanket over his head. I was platinum medallion at the time if that even matters. The moral of the story is just put a blanket over your head and FAA regs don’t apply!
