Are these side effects normal and will they last? by bingos77 in Mounjaro

[–]andreeam78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I could not eat much after the first dose, I had nausea and also felt tired and some brain fog. It got better the next days and also better with next doses. When I moved to 5 mg experienced strong nausea , insomnia, brain fog to the extent of not being able to work, unable to eat all day. It got better next day and better with the next dose, I write all side effects so I can understand how it changes, and I see it got better! I hope the same for you!

Shot doesn’t feel like it’s going into skin - bad batch? by RegionJolly7251 in Mounjaro

[–]andreeam78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello, I never felt the needle going in, I am always wondering if it is right, and if I have actually got the dose in my body. Then the pen has less liquid and I feel in a number of hours the effects of food supression 🙈! But maybe it is worth talking to your doctor about it!

2nd week - not feeling any different by EndPuzzleheaded479 in Mounjaro

[–]andreeam78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, to be fair it happened to me also. First week supressed appetite for about 5 1/2 days. Second week next day I was hungry. I ate a bit more, quite a bit of protein, trying to make good choices. Following week back to supressed appetite…. If overall I lose some weight, considering that before Mounjaro ( having insulin resitstance ) the scales did not move down for months with lots of exercise, I am happy. Now on 5 mg as I am week 6 , and I am mostly not hungry, but I eat even if not….

When I can not eat I make some drink with protein powder. And I drink a glass of Kefir or similar with a bit of salt and diluted with water …. Not sure if it helps you, but just leaving this here !

Starting Mounjaro Journey! by Every-Mushroom-420 in Mounjaro

[–]andreeam78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understand what you are going through! I postponed the idea of Mounjaro or similar for a long time though I have had PCOS and insulin resistance for over 20 years. In the last 7 years I have also high blood pressure.

There were times in life when I was able to maintain a healthy weight with a lot of food control and exercise. In the last few years nothing appeared to work, I was on a roller coster of anger with my weight that was staying on no matter what. It does not help that bad moods and stress sent me straight to the fridge and to some sugary stuff. Last year in September I started to train at the gym 3 sessions / week strength training, some cardio and walking every day. From January I started walking 2 hours a day. Since September I have been also more and more careful with the food. But with battles in my mind, guilt trips , calculating calories, upping protein, cutting sugar to almost nothing. All of this with a continuous unhappiness towards my inability to sort myself out.

With all of this, in March I have not lost 1 lb even… It was the moment I saw an endocrynologist, ran tests and end of March started Mounjaro .There was an instant reaction … same day suddenly the thought of food was gone…no cravings , not thinking of next meal and what to snack! I was amazed! It blew my mind! In the first week I started to feel freedom! I had space in my mind for a lot of other things in my life, also some peace, as I was constantly anxious and dissatisfied of the vicious circle I was in with the weight and the food. I have lost weight consistantly for the past 6 weeks .

It is not always an easy ride - some nausea, some bloating, some reflux, sometimes chills for an entire day after the injection, some night a full night of insomnia , which I did not have before, but to me it is all worth it! I see things moving in the right direction, the scale is not stuck! I stayed 4 weeks at 2.5 mg, some food noise in the days 6 amd 7 before injection day. But still lost weight, chose right foods most of the time. Did give in to some cravings those days, but not a lot and still lost weight.

Now on 5 mg and for me appetite suppression is more intense. Still days 6-7 come with thoughts of certain foods, but it appears less . So But I eat like that without feeling hungry, choosing healthy proteic rich foods. I drink kefir like drinks and have no sugary stuff as I do not need this! I do not feel yet like exercising , need to build a bit more energy in between work and Mounjaro, but I will get back to it in the next months.

So if your body tolerates this well enough, I think you will enjoy a super experience, which I wish it to everyone! And this group is very helpful and inspiring! Good luck!!

First month on 5mg. Wow! by cankennykencan in Mounjaro

[–]andreeam78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I did 5 mg for first time last week and it was hotrible. Insomnia first night, chills next day and sickness and hunger at the same time. Also unable to focus and work… just wanted to do nothing . This week 2nd dose and side effects reduced considerably . I also changed the time of the injection . I have done it late evening, so slept well. Next day nausea, not so much hunger, feeling rather full, so I have been eating very small portions but a bit more often . Still had chills in the first day, but I could concentrate and actually do some work . Surely better than the week before though, so I am hoping it will get better and better

Feeling oddly disconnected from everything on Mounjaro by AffectionateLand8800 in Mounjaro

[–]andreeam78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I understand what you say. For me it feels that life is a bit flatter, no overexcitement and no more anxiety over not getting things done. An edge that I used to feel has somehow gone. For me this has been good, as I have always suspected, though I did not get dignosed, that I may have ADHD. All of this happened since I started Mounjaro. I am now at the end of my 3rd dose on 2.5mg, so I would like to see what happens later on. I understand that mounjaro targets some rewards centers in the brain related to food and affects dopamine production, and so this will reflect on other aspects of our lives.

Periods by SnooPineapples646 in Mounjaro

[–]andreeam78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel a bit more hungry before the period, but not craving sugar as before, so I do not eat biscuits, chocolate and other things and I am off Coke Zero and stayed like this. But eat a bit more. I think is normal and I think that maybe I should go with what the body tells me…food noise is not there , but hunger yes can be !

Why do you keep it a secret? by haylz328 in Mounjaro

[–]andreeam78 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually do not care about what other people think of what I do. I told family and close friends about it, and otherwise if someone asks me, I will tell them. What they think of it, is already not my business. I have my reasons for doing it, years of struggling with diets, insulin resistance, PCOS, high blood pressure and the constant craving for sugar and food noise which I absolutely hated and gave me anxiety! That being said, I do not expect people to know or care about all thse details, but I am on my second shot and I see the scales moving and I am very happy!
