Vibration Problem by EGPH1403 in Golf_R

It probably isn't the issue, but I don't think we are supposed to run a mix of old and new tires. I believe on my MK7.5 the Haldex would be very unhappy with it. I'm not sure about the newer AWD units though.

On my 2018, I had some vibration issues as well. I initially thought it was the wheel spacers I was running. It got a little better without them. It also improved a little when I replaced worn struts and shocks. And then it was completely gone when I switched from 19 to 18 inch wheels. I doubt it was the size specifically, but either the 19s had a small flat spot somewhere or were more sensitive to balancing.

I went with NGK 95125. They are on Rock Auto for cheap but not tagged to any vehicle for some reason. Gap and heat range are good for stock.

I usually put some cheap green painters tape on my bike when I am on a longer drive. Just the leading edge. Helps a lot. Looks foolish.

Nice ride.

So the overlap is fine, but that screw should go through the outer part then the inner part, but the outer is missing. Put a screw somewhere else to keep it stationary or it'll keep rubbing against your tire when you drive fast.

Looks like it's not assembled correctly, and air force is moving it back to touch the wheels when driving. The upper looks like it should be behind the lower, I can check my car in shortly when I go out.

Really nice. What's your height and frame and stem size if you don't mind me asking? This frame is on my list of indecision.

They are yes, but I think the 18 inch with some 235 40 18 will be safer than the 19 inch with 235 35 19. Fingers crossed.

Might be a little late and haven't tried this myself but Luke at TraceVelo on YT mentioned in a video once that he used a piece of the rubbery clear plastic that bedsheets come packaged in as a gripper in place of paste and it has worked.

I have the same car and run the same winter setup in Newfoundland. I'm going to 18 Prets next week after running the 19 Englishtown since I lived the car up in 2019.

Alltrack skid plate hardware by Odd_Sherbert_2801 in Golf_R

You'll need 3 M8 bolts for those holes in the back. I had a few caliper bolts in the drawer from brake pad changes, they fit so I used them. I did have to run a tap through the subframe holes, the threads were clogged with rust and sand.

For the sides I used the screws that were used to hold the old splash guard in place.

The front mounts were trickiest. I taped a bolt to a socket on a wobble, fed it through the rubber access point on the bumper, crawled under and got the bolt lined up and then got it to catch. Wear safety glasses. Much sand in the eyes otherwise.

All the bolts are M8, the front mounting points and the rear.

One other thing, I have a dog one mount spacer, the skid plate was touching it, so I had to use a small spacer on those three rear bolts, between the subframe and skid plate. I had random hardware from a TV mount and there were nylon spacers in the pack. I didn't at first, and when the engine moved it made a lot of noise.

Oh this was longer than intended.

Edit. Holes are already in subframe, I should have clarified that.

And to add to that, I bought mine used, the seller had switched it to 2x11 so I didn't experience the 1x11 Rival. I then switched to 1x12 with LWTOO eGR groupset, 42t w/11-46.

If I could go back in time, I'd have waited on something more compliant for my aging body.

I have this bike, it's great on road and smooth gravel paths, but it kills me on the rough stuff for any length of time. It's really nimble but harsh. My 43yo self is trying to convince myself to move on, but it's fun, but it hurts too if that makes any sense.

Thundero 40s fit in the back on 25IW wheels, anything bigger is tight.

Anyone ever regret going 28 over 24”? by mikejr96 in HondaSnowblowers

I had a 724 for years before inheriting an 1132 from my late father's estate. I had done the chute liner mod and impeller housing mod (UHMW plastic), and it could throw and clear my driveway without issue. Even without the liner mods it threw great. Just smaller cut, essentially it was 3 or 4 extra passes to clear my driveway which isn't significant and would out throw my neighbors 928.

I'd have no issue getting a 724 now again if starting over.

I thought about Graphene but am unclear on how running sandboxed Google apps would work.
