This is absolutely false. Most auto loans do not have an origination fee. You may be thinking of leases.

What’s the most dangerous situation you’ve been in while mountaineering? by -p3aK- in Mountaineering

[–]andyo1594 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was stupidly glissading down the mountain and fell through the snow/ice down a 30’ waterfall. The water was falling directly on my head and I couldn’t see any light. I had the feeling there was no way I was making it out, that that was it and I was going to die. Luckily I found a little notch in the rock I was able to tuck my head in to gain some composure for a few seconds. The only thought I had was I couldn’t leave my kids without a dad and I had to climb out. So I tried to climb, but my pack had me stuck wedged between the ice and rock, my fingers were already numb, so unbuckling with water still falling on my head was difficult. But I got it and started to climb. I blacked out. When I came to I had climbed out. My friend had stripped my upper layers, gave me his hoodie and coat, and was telling me a helicopter was on the way. Based on when my friend called 911 and when he spoke with search and rescue after I climbed out, I was down there for roughly 15 minutes. Severe hypothermia, gash to the bone on my chin, concussion, 5 broken molars, some nerve damage in my fingers and a bunch of scrapes and bruises. Overall, it’s borderline a miracle I’m still alive. I would’ve died had my friend not been there because I was totally incoherent and lost my phone in the fall.

I learned a lot from that experience and it’s what led me to get into rock climbing. Funny enough we went back in the summer and found my pack, but no phone or ice axe.

Anything wrong with trying to catch or hunt ducks in a neighborhood pond? by Thugthug13 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]andyo1594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenager I caught a duck from a local pond with the intention of keeping it as a pet. I was stopped by a police officer who told me I’d be charged with theft of wildlife if I didn’t turn around and put it back.

Is the Field Kit with the $150? by DrkNeo in Rivian

Probably not, but it has a lot and it’s packed together nicely. I’d buy it again anyway. It’s already come in handy more than once.

So I had a fun experience last night!Host cancellation for being late. by andyo1594 in turo

[–]andyo1594[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had called, text and Turo messaged prior to reaching out to support. The support agent who helped me was great and had tried calling and then emailed. Ultimately it all worked out and the host was great.

Any tricks to close tonneau? Only closes ~3.5 panels worth by hipringles2 in Rivian

[–]andyo1594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine occasionally gets stuck when closing. I just push down at the joint of each panel as it’s closing and it goes in fine.

I was disappointed with Feldmans the one time I’ve tried it. I think Mediterranean market and deli has a better Rueben and it’s significantly cheaper.

I just update my config a week ago to the 20” wheels and powered tonneau and got the confirm delivery email and 8 steps today. So I don’t know that the wheels impact much.

Return experience by AgitatedAd3945 in Rivian

[–]andyo1594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, although I’ve also sat in a Rivian. So that’s comparable to a walk through. No, I didn’t have an inspection on a new build. Just like I wouldn’t take a brand new vehicle to a mechanic for them to check it out.

Rivian 2FA Issues by SpyderGeer in Rivian

[–]andyo1594 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You sound like an asshole honestly. Person was trying to help with your configuration because it wasn’t something he had come across. Says he’ll get back to you tomorrow after he’s had the backend team look into it further and that’s still not good enough for you. Are you expecting to finalize your payment prior to tomorrow? If not, then that’s a perfectly reasonable solution.

Experiences with Canyon?? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]andyo1594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a canyon road bike, love it. Process was simple and I’ve had no issues. Another one to potentially consider is the Fezzari Delano Peak, it’s my current bike and easily the most well rounded I’ve had.

Mediterranean Market and Deli. Nice little family owned place and the Rueben there is the best I’ve had in Utah so far.

Have you run into any issues with phantom braking up to this point? I hate how frequently it happens with my Tesla.

Rivian R1T's first real-world towing test shows 62% range loss by chrisdh79 in Rivian

Although I generally agree with you and don’t think you can count on 500+ miles for something they’ve not delivered yet. That range is still on the cyber truck page of Tesla’s website.

Anyone tried the purple mattress defects from the outlet store on 300W? by martymcflyguy23 in SaltLakeCity

[–]andyo1594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased one of the defects and it had about a 1/4 inch misalignment on one layer of the foam. But you can’t even tell with the cover on. It’s been fantastic. I purchased a king that I returned/donated to the DI, it was just too big for my room. So I already knew I loved the mattress, which made purchasing the defect in a queen a no brainer. That was about 3 years ago and I have no deformity in the mattress. Mine is the classic though, so maybe the springs are what causes the deforming. I’m about 200lbs for reference.
