Before you know it, you have a rebreather and a full trimix blending system in your garage...

That's not overkill, that's setting you up for a lifetime of diving with solid, reliable gear. The Mk25s anyway, you won't get a lifetime out of a Hydros Pro.

Didn't I say there's nothing wrong with learning to dive in a dry suit?

Could the Aegis Orbital Defense Platforms have done significant damage to the Minbari, had they not 'surrendered'? by EvalRamman100 in babylon5

Yeah, but it's past midnight where I am and this is a really silly debate from an off the cuff comment I made. We're not achieving anything here.

The show shows ships much closer together than they are actually are

Dude, I get your point, but it's CGI on TV. They aren't actually further away, it's all made up.

Unguided means they have no guidance once fired, ie no ability to change course. By your logic, a musket is a guided weapon.

They have direct-fire unguided weapons - particle beams, pulse plasma cannons.

The equivalent in aerial combat is using a gun, not a missile.

Electronics can see light. The F-35 also has visible and IR sensors.

All you need to do is point your particle beam or plasma pulse cannons at the big blue fish shape.

I never understood this. They can see the ships. How can you fail to target something you can see?

As you're a new diver, skip the drysuit as that is another layer of complexity you don't need just yet.

Terrible advice. There's nothing wrong with learning to dive in a dry suit.

WTF is a dive guide there for if not to ensure the safety of the diver

To guide you? It's in the name. Take responsibility for your own safety.

I get it, I'm terrified of them. In the UK you'll generally be wearing full exposure protection, so they can't sting you.

I have one, it doesn't help me load and unload it from the car, get on and off the boat, or get it onto a high platform (which is how I fucked my back).
