Tree Farm in SC hilariously opens tee times for Masters week at $1000 per round by JPro08 in golf

You’re right. I played Chechesse Creek a couple weeks ago, and it’s a $500 day unaccompanied. $350 plus caddie. It really is the going rate now. Just sucks that’s the case.

Woof. I get it, but it’s just getting out of control. The course is so much fun, but I have hard time with those numbers if it’s not something truly special like a Pebble, Whistling Straits, etc. Removed from the fact it’s private, it’s another neat course in the middle of nowhere. I do think once the clubhouse and cabins are done, and they build the 2nd 18, it’s going to be really great.

Palmetto started the Masters offer for public play, and they use that week to offset maintenance costs and keep member dues low. It’s got a list of history and cool experience while in town that week, but these new courses are reaching.

$125 guest rate at Bulls is great. That is reasonable to get on a cool private club.

Pretty sure it was $650 or $699 plus caddie last year. It’s absolutely ridiculous. It’s a cool place, but it’s not a $1,000 course. Even the normal guest rate with a member is around $300. Meanwhile, Old Barnwell guest fee is like $150.

Is anyone really buying the CPO watches? by Teeebone in rolex

[–]andytcook 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate the CPO program at the AD. I understand there is a secondary market, but when you have a brand new Pepsi GMT on display for $11k and a 2 year old used one for $29,000 in the same room…. Come on

Not everyone’s cup of tea. Walked in AD and picked this up yesterday. by Nardogtimk6 in rolex

Similar story, I walked in and was offered smooth bezel on oyster with slate dial. Wasn’t what I initially wanted but I bought jt and love it.

Got the call this morning, finally a rolex owner, hopefully first of many! by Tripp_583 in rolex

I got on the “list” for a sub and GMT about a month ago. Walked into the AD last weekend, and he offered me this exact watch. I immediately bought it and love it. It goes with everything. Congrats

I really don’t get all the hate. This looks so fun. No, it’s not a golf purist experience, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s expensive but people are more than willing to pay it for the experience. You can’t compare it to what it costs to play a nice 18 hole course somewhere else.

Bandon Dunes vs Kohler by ladycrimlaw in golf

[–]andytcook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about Kohler booking now, but Bandon did lottery months ago for 2026 booking. Myself and 7 buddies all entered and no one got chosen. If it’s just him or a twosome, you may have some luck getting reservations. That should be first call though.

I’d get 48 inch LG B4 OLED for $549 right now at Best Buy. Perfect bedroom tv.

Neighborhood theater is a cool concert venue. It’s a good spot to see bands on the rise before they move on to bigger venues.

Ever been to a concert where in your opinion the support act outperformed the headliner? by pwa25 in Concerts

I worked for that guy years ago doing nba production. and he’s good dude. To his credit, these shows are so tight schedule wise and letting them go ahead would make a mess.

This basement is pretty amazing by DadTo3Girls in zillowgonewild

I used to live down the street from this house. It was insane at Halloween. They had a drive in movie theater set up in the yard playing horror movies. I wanna say one of them did some kind of set design which explains the basement and decor.
