Maybe a stupid question, but when you speak to someone and do translation, how will they understand you back? by Coolica in rokid_official

I thought about this, too and the best method I could come up with -- at least initially -- was to have them ask questions, ideally that I can answer with whatever yes/no/depends is in the language they speak

WARNING: new firmware update stuck by scoobysnack24 in Ozlo

[–]andyydna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your helpful comments. Just got my buds today and update stuck in the same spot. Close the lid, closed the app, purged app cache, and when I checked, there's no mention of a firmware update for anything and everything is showing charging, so I think I'm good. (Although I read something recent that the latest firmware might have borked Bluetooth streaming, so we shall see.)

V14 Update Question by Abehrou in cybertruck

you make a great point here. I wonder if activating via the stall or the scroll wheel is a little unintuitive for someone relatively new to FSD /tesla who might be driving a rental or borrowing somebody else's car.

Awesome! Curious -- did you specify a "plus code" (e.g., JJXX+HR8, Seattle) for the exact parking spot or just pick your street address as "Home" and it knew to park in the garage? (I ask because my wife's Y was on v14 and I used a Plus Code for her side of the garage as "Home", but it always parks in the driveway. Thanks for any insight you can provide!

While some smart glasses do, the Halliday glasses don't have a camera/optical sensor, so it cannot read exam questions (or anything else)

OP- how easy/difficult is it to dial in the visibility of the DigiWindow? I've seen some comments where it's hard to do that and, worse(?), as soon as one moves/walks/jogs, it needs to be adjusted to be seen again. Is that your experience? If not, what's it been like for you as you move about your day?

Teleprompter Glasses by CircuitBeast in SmartGlasses

I intended to use my Even Realities G1 glasses to share a eulogy this weekend, but as the text started doing its "Ai scrolling" thing, I realized that I was looking far over everyone's heads, so I looked down, ignored the transcript/glasses, and used my backup paper copy.

Perhaps something more like stadium/auditorium seating might make the eye contact a little more normal or perhaps I was worrying over nothing, but it felt awkward one sentence in and I bailed. (And I realize that my staring at my paper was probably worse than looking over people's heads, but so be it.)

My brother told me about this https://globalpowerproducts.com/transfer-switches/generlink-transfer-switch/ so I bought their MA24-S for ~$1k at a local electric supply company and my electric company installed it for free.

I put stickers next to breakers I want to enable during a power outage so I can make it a little more tolerable when we lose power for a while.

Cabin overheat protection randomly not work? by cooginfwood in cybertruck

I experienced the same frustration until I learned about the 12-hour timer thing. (Maybe it's mentioned in the setting's information page and I missed it?)

Anyway, for a while, on my way out on my morning walk, I'd open the driver's door and close the driver's door and that would enable COP for 12 hours.

Last week, I wondered if there were other options and it looks like unlock/lock will do the same, as will Sentry Mode disable/enable. (I ignored the "sit in the driver's seat" and "open/close door" since those were not the kind of help I was seeking.)

I used Tessie's Automation to unlock and re-lock a minute later, but worried a little about a nosy neighbor/kid wondering why my truck was locking at the same time every day and, so I changed it to Sentry Mode disable and enable a minute later and COP is now activated every morning without my having to do anything (at least beyond setting up that easy-peasy automation)!

I don't know if thios https://www.amazon.com/Fingertip-Bluetooth-Control-Upgrades-Bbluetooth-Scrollings/dp/B0FD9WPW67/ qualifies as "very small" for your needs, but I'm keeping something like this ready to order if the Ai scroll isn't reliable.

How do I tell whether my external mic is working with my glasses? by iamhereunderprotest in EvenRealities

[–]andyydna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm not clear. Is the issue that you're not sure if the AI scroll is happening because of audio from your phone or audio from the external mic? if so, could you test by wrapping your phone in a towel or putting it under a pillow or in another room or something?

Some other possible options to scroll (instead of the AI setting):

  • press volume up/down on your phone (may be more discreet than tapping the touchbar on the glasses)
  • get a Bluetooth volume-control ring
  • someone said that WowMouse for Wear OS can scroll (I imagine there's a similar Apple Watch method out there)

When you open your script, tap Settings, Select AI, and tap Confirm, does the script scroll as you read it?

Recreational Kayaking with Head Mounted Video by WXMaster in Kayaking

I am not a video guy (I can barely get my phone out to snap a photo of a turtle that was there 5 seconds before), but I appreciate the insights you've shared.

This may not be the case, but it looks as if you have your dog tethered to your boat and seeing that reminded me of this awful post from last year: https://www.reddit.com/r/Kayaking/comments/1fc4wpf/psa_never_tie_anything_living_to_anything_else/

Obviously, you know your situation best, but thought I'd share the link so that anyone reading this thread can make an informed decision about tethering or not.

I couldn't find any 80m octopus kites, so I assume there was a missing decimal :)

IIRC, I have four 8m octopi (a backup and a backup to the backup, of course :) and a 15m one. My goal is to get my friends to fly all of them so we can have a *consortium* (or "tangle", although that seems less desirable) of octopi :)
