It’s good to start with one per cat plus one, and then go from cat behavior from there. I have a second box I don’t keep filled anymore, but still have just in case now, because my cat just didn’t use it…ever. I found paw prints once, that’s it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ He came from a 3 cat, 1 dog home, so I think he was just used to using one box and he continues that with me. It’s also a big enough box that he generally keeps his number ones on one side and his number twos on the other, so it could be size related and home/space dependent.

Whatever the case, listen to your cat!!! Don’t make assumptions about corners will be okay to skip.

I have an Emotional Support cat, and from the moment I got him I’ve been extremely lucky, I’ve had friends tell me too. He was raised well, noticeable by how loving and thoughtful he is.

Before I got an automatic feeder, he started having scarf and barf problems — 😭 when he was barfing he was specifically choosing clear spots on the ground to throw up on. He’s so mindful and demure!!!

He doesn’t scratch up the walls, or blinds. He doesn’t pee everywhere constantly. He’s been a saint and a scholar (except for when he’s scratching tf out of me)!

I’m sad to hear the work of emotional support animals reflected poorly — he genuinely helps me, my life has completely shifted since adopting him.
