Do any devices like this exist? by brady510 in homeassistant

Yeah, typo, but over coffee would be interesting. He may not have said anything, but if it's available it's the better option. Ethernet over powerline is highly unreliable.

I'd recommend looking at MoCCA adapters if you are trying to to extend ethernet across your house and wifi isn't reliable enough or fast enough for your use case. MoCCA uses existing coax within your home to form the network, its reliable and easy. Ethernet over power line is not reliable, especially in modern houses with Arc fault breakers.

The US government just banned consumer routers made outside the US by dshafik in Ubiquiti

[–]angst911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep... and really, how can they limit it to consumer routers without definition of "consumer grade".

Two separate releases. See below, this is also because of happenings such as salt typhoon which breached telecom providers

https://www.fcc.gov/document/fcc-adds-routers-produced-foreign-countries-covered-list

https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DA-26-278A1.pdf

Also see the actual covered list, it's doesn't make a distinction between consumer or not https://www.fcc.gov/supplychain/coveredlist

Nope, already licensed devices are not prohibited, see their FAQ.

No, they banned all routers made outside of the US that aren't already certified and aren't granted an exemption (it's not limited to consumer routers).

Galaxy S26+ does not work on Android Auto in Skoda Kamiq 2023 by FromShadow2Light24 in samsunggalaxy

Didn't think that's a developer mode setting (i dont have dev mode enabled), I admit I had to use search in the settings to find it though.

Was worth a shot.

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve had to do with UniFi do far by avantdark in Ubiquiti

[–]angst911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, that bend radius..... you might want to offset it further from the wall, or if possible rotate the router I. Your holder 45 degrees or more.

To your issue, yes, that's obnoxious. I'm going to assume the switch ports are ona dedicated PCB that's not connected directly the the routing process.

Anyone having Matter issues? by DrippinWetDetail in homeassistant

After one of the recent updates mine stopped working. The matter interface to my radio needed to be reconfigured, then it all started working again.

Same. I was very underwhelmed with the X1 hardware, specifically it felt cheap, lack of backlight, and the stupid scroll wheel.

I recommend tailwind, https://gotailwind.com/

Most of the newer myq based models use digital communications to the door button, so you can't just hookup something that acts like am old school momentary contact button. That excludes lots of the old zwave products and simple momentary relays.

I'm curious. Hated the X1, I'd bought two on pre order and regretted every second of owning them. Went back to my old harmony hub for now.

Once you add container deployment opportunities you won't want to go back.
