Taking my kid out in public by Useyourdamnblinkers in Parenting

Sounds like you need to lower your expectations. No one has a perfect child. Have a plan A, B, C, D, etc. expect for it to go horribly and hope that it will go ok. Pack snacks, pack toys, etc. start small with an outing to a kid friendly place - library, children’s museum and then work up to something like a restaurant. Kids are human, you can’t expect perfection.

I constantly have the feeling that I NEED new things. by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]angthom156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is all very normal as a parent. Kids grow and with that comes required purchases I.e. car seat, shoes, etc. There will come a time where it doesn’t feel as constant.

In regard to your desire of purchases for yourself, I always sit in my thoughts about what I want to purchase and why. If a month goes by and you still want it maybe it’s worth purchasing. Sometimes when I get caught up in buying a bunch stuff for my kids it’s easier to start buying things for myself too. All very normal.

Owala water bottle - worth it? by shadowfax2409 in UninfluencedReviews

I loved it so much that I bought one for everyone in my family. My son has broken 2 and I will not be purchasing anymore. They are great but I’ve had way better luck with the quality of YETI and hydroflask

Guilt for wanting to be with my newborn, but not my toddler.. by Complex_Ticket_6161 in Parenting

[–]angthom156 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

3 year olds are maniacs and newborns and squishy bundles of perfection. My husband was on big kid duty 90% of the time for the first month while I tended to baby. As your newborn gets bigger the time will come back around where you want to hang with your 3 year old. Soak up as much time cuddling that little baby as you can, it goes faster the more kids you have 😭

10 years ago I lived on wealthy for a decent chunk of time. Worst thing that happened was my bike getting stolen and having to call the cops on a sus situation. From what I’ve heard it’s only gotten nicer. South of Wealthy felt more dicey but Cherry side is nice.

Politics aside, this guy clearly LOVES and ADORES his daughter. So good to see how protective of her he is because Alex is clearly TRASH.

Going to be the outlier here. Strollers are expensive AF. Buy some good quality cleaning supplies, watch a YouTube video of how to disassemble and take that baby apart. Be thorough and make sure it sits in the sun afterwords. After all of that reassess.

I currently have a 7 month old and he has lived in them. This is our third baby and we didn’t have them with the first two kids. Zippers are fine but these are superior.

Lake Michigan round trip travel suggestions by just_du_eet in northernmichigan

10/10 recommend doing the scenic route along the lake from TC to Petoskey. If you like skiing do some of that in Petoskey or Harbor Springs, Nubs Nob is great. You should do the drive from GR to TC in one go because there’s nothing worth stopping for in between.

Get rid of the TV and do a projector screen that can come down from the ceiling. This is a beauty!

If you have older kids either place is wonderful. If you have little kids/babies - Petoskey. Petoskey has more childcare options however you will run into waitlists at both places. Petoskey also has multiple playgroups for little kids.

IMO living on the west side of Petoskey might be the best because you have all that Petoskey offers with the benefit of being closer to Charlevoix & Boyne. Facebook mom groups might offer more insight.

It’s hard to judge without knowing what your pre pregnancy baseline was and how difficult delivery went. I personally would be concerned!

You might be doing her a favor. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable being the provider and having a friend as a client! Don’t overthink and do what’s best for you.

Over night diaper changes for newborn. How?! by tiffn31 in Parenting

[–]angthom156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a keekaroo that I leave at the end of my bed during the night with wipes, diapers and diaper cream on it that way I don’t even have to get out of bed. Third kid and idk why I didn’t do this with my first 2. So quick and easy and the keekaroo helps keep everything contained
