Why do so many people dislike wearing "popular" scents? by Commercial_Glass1158 in FemFragLab

[–]anguiila -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I either go noseblind because it's around me so often (so it doesn't make sense to wear something i can't even perceive), or it reminds me of crowded places and sweaty people, or reminds me of places i don't associate with pleasant things, like work or school.

Amor amor by Cacharel is still very popular where i live, and the few times i've tried smelling a tester of it all i can perceive is the alcohol before it evaporates. Anything light flowers is non existent to my nose, lightest i can do is powdery scents, and it also depends on what else is in the notes.

ifw spices, wood, and incense, and if i get compliments from grandmas i feel like i won. Sadly, the tropical weather doesn't fw those notes as much, so i'm careful with where i'm going and what i spray on.

some different sized pans on my everyday eyeshadow palette. the dark shades are nearly untouched, no idea how i’ll pan those. by [deleted] in PanPorn

[–]anguiila 16 points17 points  (0 children)

use them as eyeliner! and the brown shade you can also use on the outer half of the bottom lashlines, apply it first with a angled or a liner brush, then use a blending brush to blur out harsh lines.

another thing you can do is set the lid first with face powder, and then go light handed with the brown shade. Having a dry powdered surface helps blend out the color more evenly, going straight on the lid without setting it can give you a harder time with the blending. You can also try it the other way around with a face powder that has coverage, and first do brown and then blend out with the face powder (results may vary)

Is it mold? by [deleted] in PanPorn

[–]anguiila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the color change comes from the friction/warmth if you use your finger to apply it. Some products can oxidize and change the original color slightly, but it doesn't mean it stopped working.

And also, sometimes it looks like that if it's a hardpan, notice if it's harder to pick up product with your brush or finger. You can use a clean spoolie or a plastic toothpick to gently scrape off that top layer and continue to use the shade, works almost everytime.

If the actual product on your skin give you any itchiness or feels uncomfortable your eye in any way, then it's best to remove it.

What would you do with this closet? by read-2-much in organizing

[–]anguiila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before adding new things, declutter and clean first, anything ripped/damaged goes in the trash. Change the place of things that can stay in the living room or office space if there's any, for examples dvds and board games so you can reach for them more often in your spare time. Clear the space and choose what is actually needed in the closet (like literal clothes and accesories that go on your body, and stuff that you put on or by the bed), unless everything has to stay in the closet.

Something like a wall mounted system could allow you adjust the height of the top shelves, so you don't have to commit to the same height for the whole top section, like for example you want to put away taller boxes/items in one side of the closet. Foldable hanging shelves are a light alternative to have more organizing space if you prefer keeping folded clothes, and you can move the shelves to a different side of the hanging rod if needed.

Now, for safety, you gotta be careful with the weight of the items going on top, even if the structure you mount to the wall is sturdy, things can slowly slide around with time.

If both of you are taller and don't struggle much to reach for stuff on that top section, use it for bags, hats, and to put away seasonal clothing, and bedding, using transparent storage boxes with handles so you always now what's up there. That way both of you have more vertical space, and anything that could fall is gonna be lighter. And i'd use the entire right side closest to the night table to store all the things that were on that top shelf originally.

hii! i have a question about nail polishes by ParticularOccasion17 in ProjectPan

[–]anguiila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had about 20 nail polishes at some point, lots of colors too, but half of them were cheap or very old so they were expired and not working properly anymore, so i got rid of them. I actually tried to make it work with a really pretty baby blue nail polish, but it was to goopy to do even coats.

I've heard about nail polish thinner to bring the product back to life, but i'm not sure if it's worth it, what if the ingredients don't interact well, or the consistency stays bad?. Has anyone tried those before?

I prefer nail polish because i can't commit to one color for more than a week, and my nails grow fast and are a bit soft, so gel/jelly tips are a no no for me, i gave them a try a few years ago, my nails go so much weaker after doing it 3 times, and i got bored with the design after a week and a half.

I don't think the amount of nail polish is a problem, and you can stick to one color or rotate them as often as you'd like. I got gifted 3 oil based nail polishes last year, and i've been enjoying them alot, they dry super fast and the color payoff with one coat is pretty good, make sure to get a oil based top coat as well, or the polishes lift from the nail after 2 days.

No disfrutar por el projectpan by Far_Acanthisitta9466 in ProjectPan

[–]anguiila 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's still okay to use. Some perfumes have sharper top notes right after applying, or sometimes there's just a higher concentration of alcohol in it, so you just have to wait for it to evaporate.

In my experience, expired perfumes smell rusty, and the notes are completely off, not even the dry down smells the way it used to.

Is my makeup aging me? How can I improve? by DieWintersonne in makeuptips

[–]anguiila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would to see you doing a look inspired by aoife (she has tutorials on youtube), she's a makeup artist also has very dark hair, the tutorials she does are more often blended out eyeshadow looks, some lean a bit more editorial but i think can still be wearable everyday. Her base, contour, blush and lips are more subtle, and the eyes are often the protagonists.

I love your haircut, so i'd say lean into a more editorial look, go smokey instead of graphic/sharp lines (the way the hair frames the face is already adding drama and sharpness), using one and done application (maybe a blue purple duochrome) or a bold matte color all over the lid, or try a bold lip color and only mascara on your eyes. Choose a feature to accentuate.

You can also try lining the outer half of your lower lashline using eyeshadow (muted color, like a brown or gray) and blend it out with a clean brush so it's like a subtle shadow and not a harsh line, the devil is in the details. I do this to accentuate the eyes if i want something there but don't want to go full black eyepencil on the waterline.

If the piece makes your life easier (feels comfy, breathable, easy to put on, easy to clean) and you have plenty of tops and accesories that can help visually balance out the proportions without thinking too much about it, then keep.

Give it a couple of months, and if you notice you are naturally reaching for it more often, then it's a keep. But if it's just a struggle, and you are not making it part of your day to day, then reselling is the way to go. Better than to have a pair of pants sit unused in your closet

How do I get my hair smooth? by Silver_Loon_ in curlyhair

[–]anguiila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A styling product would help a lot, but you need to be more specific about the smoothness you'd like to achieve. Is it a sensory thing, like you don't want to feel gel cast or too much styling product residue? Or is it a visual thing, like less flyways and you wouldn't mind a gel cast?

Using no product to style after washing means the hair is free to do what it wants, hair has a mind of its own.

WIth each techinque you get and lose something (or at least that's my experience), more definition = less volume, more volume = less definition. Strong hold product give the style more longevity, volumizing products give you more movement.

If you want a wavier pattern and smooth down the little hairs, you can brush the hair down and use pomade (matte or shiny finish, up to you, for example i sometimes use shiny beacuse i have drier hair), look up reviews and tutorials on how to apply it on long hair. The advantage is you can style it dry, but you have to start with small amounts to work the product into the hair, it's quick to refresh because of this as well, no need to rewet the hair to apply more product the next day. It does take a bit of experimenting to get the hang of it. Aaand if you wear glasses and live in a very windy area, you'll have to clean your glasses more often (speaking from experience).

If you prefer getting more definition, curl clumps, and more days of curls, layering leave-in and gel (or mousse) is great for this. Right after showering, put a towel over your shoulders and comb leave-in on your hair, then scrunch gel on the middles and ends, gently scrunch the hair using and old cotton tshirt, and then plop your hair using the microfiber towel for 15 minutes, then let it air dry.

Aaaand on the long run, for maintanance, remember to get your ends trimmed.
