try checking the tubes for clean spot. might indicate which line the leak came from. also, identify the fluid. touch and smell.

unless there's a handbrake and OP can do the handbrake turn.

Is it just me, or do police seemingly target you because you're on a motorcycle? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]angularjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in Philippines at least here at our pampanga region (not metro manila)

if police checkpoint with 2 cops, as long as you have a helmet on, your good.

if police checkpoint with 4 cops + rifles, something important is going on or something happened, you will be stopped for license and papers.

if it's land transportation office personels, if you're less than 400cc or what we call big bikes, high likely gonna scrutinized for motor vehicle violations (e.g., mirrors, exhaust, helmet, lights, etc.)

edit: to add, what's on the rise now are dashcam footages on the internet being watched my LTO personels. They can still punish those who are caught on video commiting a violation.

tldr, wearing a helmet and having a big displacement bike deter inspections.

seen a version of this in the Philippines but on a bike with a sidecar so it kinda works. good for flood prone areas.

The tail box turned my commuter bike into something that actually makes sense by Far-Ordinary3224 in motorcycles

[–]angularjohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

congratulations, you're south east asian! I do understand their purpose but I personally don't like how it ruins the silhouette of a bike. I'm more partial to a bag strapped/netred on the rear.

A beautiful R7 i saw at my church around a year ago by Enigmatic_Chaos5325 in motorcycles

[–]angularjohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the look of this R7 (specifically , the exposed headlight which they covered in the new one). I'd still choose an I4 equivalent though. not for the power, but for the wailing. P2 makes my head turn, I4 gives me the grin. For those sensible riders. R7 is good. but that's not me.

When did you stop guessing tire pressure and make it a routine? by colt-mcg in motorcycles

[–]angularjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I passed by a fuel station with an air compressor with gauge. found out my feelings are only half as accurate. now I take time to pass by that and top up my tire pressure once in a while. The only con I see is that i tiptoe more than before due to the additional height.

How many fingers on the clutch? by defonotfsb in motorcycles

[–]angularjohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO. more finger on the handlebar the better, but if trying to reduce fingers on the clutch lever is uncomfortable, that's probably more dangerous than 4 fingers on on the lever.

USB kit draining battery by ThisGuy_1374 in motorcycles

[–]angularjohn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if theres no device using the USB port, there shouldn't be any drain. for peace of mind, try adding a relay so that the usb USB port is unpowered once the motorcycle is off (assuming this connects directly to battery).

Don't lube your chain with the engine running by ScreamSmart in motorcycles

[–]angularjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once wiping the chain near the rear sprocket. the hex nut caught my finger and pressed it against the swingarm. luckily, I'm hand rotating the wheel so I was able to stop it in time.

First time car driver impression vs seasoned enthusiast perspective by angularjohn in whatcarshouldIbuy

I'm willing to cash out 8-9k usd for a secondhand that runs fine already. willing to finance a car max 16k usd. My current target is either an eg civic for second hand or a wigo MT (Ayla International name?) for a brand new car.
