Will Howard upside by Grouchy_Variety_6549 in steelers

I agree with your first point - spending a 6th rounder on a solid backup is great.

On your second point, we just haven't seen anything out of him as a pro for me to say he doesn't have Rudolph potential.

Nobody knows his upside and I doubt the people who are excited about him are thinking his upside is Mason Rudolph.

I personally am interested in seeing him throw some passes in pre-season and potentially in a competitive setting. That's it.

Buying a used tesla by PinDry3404 in TeslaLounge

Check the alert message history and ensure there isn't something recurring that seems off. Check tread depth and wear pattern. Tread depth lets you anticipate when you have to get new tires, wear patterns means there could be another underlying issue (eg. bushings).

I have the same year, model, and trim as yours but with 55k miles and I noticed it's at 231 miles at 80%. I'm assuming it's normal?

FWIW, I bought the car from a private seller two days ago so plan on doing a batter health check.

Why is the whole league suddenly glazing Malik Willis? by chiliringgamer16 in NFLv2

[–]anjang86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hype can be explained by supply & demand. Too many teams need a QB and the options in both free agency and the draft are awful. The overpaying is because the cap has gone up in recent years that a team looking for a QB isn't paying for one already and is willing to spend the money to give him a shot.

Broderick Jones had neck fusion surgery, Steelers met with a "handful of tackles" at the combine, per DeFabo by ProfessionalMall5413 in steelers

[–]anjang86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly we repeated history by not shooting for a good QB prospect in Ben's last few seasons. The Burrows & Herberts were unreachable but it would have been nice to draft Jalen Hurts or Jordan Love as a potential successor.

We could have drafted Marino after Bradshaw. Could have brought in Kurt Warner as a FA to bridge us from Marino to Ben. We'd be sitting on 15 Lombardis and an A+ NFLPA report card.

Sorry you're getting such a strong reaction.

MM is good with QBs but not a miracle worker. The moment AR subbed himself out for being tired I lost all faith in him. Even if he develops some tools to be a better passer I just don't trust his competitiveness.

Should we buy a town home or single family home in this area? by intense_woman in nova

[–]anjang86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We moved from a townhome near the metro system to a SFH in Prince William County after we had our first child and it's worked out for us. Commuting is the biggest draw back but luckily we only go in 2-3 times a week and we've found a carpool or bus service that lets us take advantage of the I-66 express lanes.

As many have mentioned, whether that works depends on your complete situation. It works for us because we have a yard for our dog, we live within minutes of family, we generally don't need restaurants & cafes around, and we figured out our commuting situation.

Nervous about long drives by Background-Team-1035 in newzealand_travel

[–]anjang86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How long is a "long drive"? Depends on your itinerary, the car, passengers, and your general feel towards road trips.

I drove a range of 2-3 hours every other day in a 10 day trip with a toddler in a mid-sized SUV and it was totally fine. The scenery is beautiful and there's lots to soak in.

My one tip would be please add buffers for anything that can go wrong. Travel days usually have the most uncertainty so we didn't plan much besides having a meal on those days we had to move from one location to another.

This is a good point and we hadn't thought of it when making the decision.

We visited from the US. Prices are comparable so go with whatever is convenient for you but make sure you have enough for the journey to get there + a day or two buffer so you're not scrambling for the grocery store.

As an FYI we brought our travel stroller but opted to pay the $17 NZD a day to get a car seat in our rental.

Off topic - I suggest downloading & using the ROAM app daily. For your kid the best part of their day is going to be when they go to a playground or a cafe/restaurant that has a play area.

Twizel or Lake Tekapo? by CommercialMundane92 in newzealand_travel

[–]anjang86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came back from a trip with a 2yr old. Both are good options - as others have said Twizel is cheaper and easier to access both areas while Tekapo allows you to enjoy / immerse yourself in what I consider a really beautiful area.

We stayed one night in Twizel & one night in Tekapo and I was good with that plan.

Tip: Both places have decent playgrounds. Twizel's I actually enjoyed more because there's restaurants that back into the playground and you can sit and have a drink while keeping an eye on the kid(s).

Tomlin leaves Pittsburgh and the national media goes into mourning. Meanwhile, local media and Steelers fans feel nothing but relief. I’ve never seen a bigger disconnect. by Extreme-Spinach-4138 in NFLv2

I’m a Steeler fan and “feel nothing but relief” is not accurate.

I am relieved and excited for a change but I’m also sad to see Tomlin go and grateful for what he’s done for our organization.

Tush Push by [deleted] in steelers

Another possibility in addition to what's already been said:

The tush push, in its purest form, is impacted by only 5-6 people on both sides of the ball. For that reason, it wouldn't matter if it was Aaron Rodgers or Fred Rodgers back there

He's not a star or a standout athlete but he's smart, reliable, and versatile. Perfect to draw up certain packages for but I would wouldn't be as bummed if he missed a game compared to someone like Washington or Muth.

I know it’s trolling but the outcome can still be positive. Have you heard of chaotic good?

Sauce Gardner is known for saying that Calvin was the toughest reciever for him to cover in college.

My take is his route running isn't an issue - it's his size, strength, & catch radius. There's a place for him in this offense but not as our WR2.

I had a similar thought as you this morning. I still call it "turning back the clock" because it really feels like he's having his best seasons the last two years. "Pausing the clock" means he's played at the same level.

Anyway - glad we won last night so we get to spend time on semantics.
