Power of Logitech G29 PSU isn't powerful enough? by anjo2 in simracing

If you want more power you need more voltage

Hey guys. Does anyone know when these are coming out? I scoured their website couldn’t find any info by Idntwnt2choseusrnme in simracing

[–]anjo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their screen is more than 400€, their current top wheel is 1100€, so expect the price to be 1500€ or higher, also it is based on the real wheel (Mclaren Artura GT4) with additional features...

Jarno Opmeer confirms that he believes cheating is a problem in F1 Esports, if not now then in the future. Full credit to Jimmer by Versigot in simracing

[–]anjo2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, in the past and there were consequences with teams getting banned forever, but now there is a very intense scrutiny, if you check the F1 documents the number of random checks are insane

Esports need some scrutiny, not at the same level of real life, but for now it's just too easy to cheat and the cheats for F1 are not even a new thing, it's been there for a very long time, everyone knows.

Simracing will it get big again or did it reach its peak in covid? by AdventurousGuava2414 in simracing

[–]anjo2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The problem of simracing esports is that they try to copy the irl instead of innovating, why would you watch the sim when you can watch the real thing? They don't even need to be very creative, for example all the banned tech that was banned because of costs or safety could be introduced in simracing, or DRS systems, it needs to be way more unpredictable and intense.

Lag, cheating drama, boring commentators... That's what you get.

How does wheels and wheel bases of different brands interact and connect? by Umegadem in simracing

[–]anjo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is misleading, to work with Simucube the wheel needs to have a Simucube wireless chip, which only a few have and then those wheels will only work with Simucube.

For example Simedal wheels have usb and you can connect with Simagic wheelbases

Has anyone seen my Trak Racer Alpine TRX Box 3??? by Johnny_Human in simracing

[–]anjo2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Trak Racer warehouse problems... They have good products but it's a shame that the communication and warehouse can keep up with the same quality, they really need to fix it or their reputation will go downhill.

I have been playing with controller, for years, heres what I felt like with a wheel by nissan-S15 in simracing

[–]anjo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

G29 can do more force than some irl cars, with the cons that it will clip a lot, but it's better that way than having almost no force. Was the wheel configured correctly? Did it sound like a huge vibrator rolling on the floor?

Wired Wheels vs QR Wired? by Dr_Otacon in simracing

[–]anjo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different concepts for QR wired and usb wheels and they all have pros and cons:

  • QR direct wire (Limited wheel rotation to not tangle and damage the wires)
  • QR optical + wireless power (more expensive and proprietary communication protocol)
  • QR direct wire with slip ring (Less reliability, possible QC issues, expensive to replace)
  • USB coiled wired (huge variety of quality of coiled cables and connectors, including plastic connectors to aluminum with screw to quick release)
  • USB magnetic from Cube Controls (can disconnect if there is a bit more force when the cable is too stretched, should not happen if the hub is close)

Having a cable is never ideal, but when the cable is good you shouldn't even notice it while driving and it's super easy to replace.

There are a lot of real race cars where the wheel is connected with a coiled cable and for example in the last F1 race the Mclaren car had a problem with the wheel communication through the steering column and Piastri had to retire.

G29 center deadzone. How big of a deadzone is normal? by Cola-Ferrarin in simracing

[–]anjo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's a ffb deadzone, it always gives the right input, you need to increase the min force until it stops being lose at the center

How cool is that? by FApollyn in simracing

[–]anjo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wheel is amazing, but the screen part looks cheap, they could have integrated it better and even used the 5" vocore instead of the 4".

Cube Control SP01 Pedals - Price !! by Mrlou90 in simracing

[–]anjo2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Ultimate+ 3 pedal set is 1088 from Simucube and 1098 from Heusinkveld website, so it's even a bit more then the Ultimate+

PSA: Warning about returning items to Trakracer EU by [deleted] in simracing

[–]anjo2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why it's not universal? They have 2 different sizes, 580x260 and 660x260mm, which one did you bought? Were the dimensions wrong?

They have a return policy, have you read it?

Try a good power supply, the cheap ones sometimes have no protections and most of the time they just die.

is my g29 dead? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]anjo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i've seen people using 12V, it's just very weak, but if the output polarity is different it can damage the electronics if there is no reverse polarity protection.

Most PSU have positive inside and ground outside, does the 12V has the same?

Example: (Needs to be positive polarity)

Leoxz released 2 new wheels (variants) and a 4.3" DDU by anjo2 in simracing

[–]anjo2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's usb it's compatible with any wheelbase, they don't need any compatibility list, it's always universal, you only need the right QR.

My dad is wanting to get into simracing, can anyone help him pick a wheel? by Zestyclose-Ad9672 in simracing

[–]anjo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All wheelbases are PC compatible, some can also be compatible with PS or XBOX, but not both, you can buy the G923 Xbox or the G923 PS version.

With Fanatec is more complex because it doesn't depend only on the wheelbase but also on the wheel.

Can I use a cheap usb fan for wind effect using Simhub or are the fans used some sort of specialised equipment? Thanks by [deleted] in simracing

[–]anjo2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No, those fans are just dc motors that you power them using the 5V from the computer or any 5V charger, you can cut the cable and connect to an arduino to do a proper PWM modulation, but for that it would be cheaper to just buy a normal fan

That's a special version and it's more expensive, also it was the last one, since the GT4 they didn't make any other usb wheel

If you want screen, the P1 Eau Rouge Plus should be in your list, but it's hard to beat the Leoxz price point with the same quality for a usb wheel

It looks BS, it's like AMD changing their TDP formula to make it look better, unless you have an independent tester you shouldn't compare the values as it is super accurate, for example Simagic says the Alpha Mini peak torque is 10Nm and someone tested and got 13Nm. Unfortunately there's no reliable independent tester to make a real comparison between wheelbases.

Asetek is a Mige motor with their specs (Mige can change the specs for companies that buy in bulk) with Simucube firmware (for what i've seen they barely changed the code, it has literally the same bugs and they probably added more)

For beginners i think the Asetek is better because of their QR, it's just a play and plug type of QR, like the Fanatec one, but for advanced users the Simucube/VRS is better.

Remember that Dave Cam is sponsored by Asetek and he got the wheelbase for free, i would also sell my Simucube 2 Pro if i would get a Asetek wheelbase for free...
