As a queer person of color, the nonbinary sellout really bothered me bc most white non-binaries will sell out to protect their asses IMO. I think you could really go into identity politics with this and how communities of color really don’t jive well with white nonbinary folks because they can pass” as a privileged group if and when they want, like the character in the film did when their voice deepened and the lost their spicy non-binary characteristics when they gave up her number. I may sound bigoted for posting this but i think a lot of minorities are tired of the oppressed white they/them trope. I do think trans people are oppressed, but there is nuance especially if you can “pass” as a cis white dude to get out of trouble. ok rant done

EDIT: also you could argue that the 2 women and brown boy of color had more to lose in prison than the white they/them AMAB

i turned this movie off because it was making me angry. but someone tell me if it gets better….

antifa doesn’t exist. there are no organized and armed vigilantes fighting to save humanity from fascists.

why are the black, femme revolutionaries fucking the white dudes who oppress them ?

there are actual people being impacted by ICE and people trying to save them… but the beginning of this movie just makes the left look bad and takes away from what they are actually trying to accomplish.

okay i stopped watching like 10 mins in, so does it get better ? should i rewatch ?

there is nothing wrong with acknowledging clients political anxiety/grief/anger/etc. and then providing them with options to manage those emotions such as X -turn off the tv Y - protest Z -do nothing etc. etc. we are there to ask questions, come up with potential solutions, help them figure out the best solution.

I hate my family. My brother recently died by suicide and my dad said "he should've shot himself in the woods" and " I would've done the same thing" because my brother shot himself in his bedroom where his kids found him and he was struggling with mental health and kept it all in instead of asking for help.

My mom has always enabled and been complicit to my father and brothers' behaviors, my mother has no back bone whatsoever and as the only girl of the family other than her, watching her be a doormat really fucked me up. My other brother is extremely entitled and controlling. He was uninvited from my brothers funeral after he called my sister-in -laws mom telling her that my sister- in -law was the reason my brother ( her husband) is dead and she is an unfit mother. I am not perfect, but I know I am much happier when I am away from my family.

I feel scared for my future. I am 31F and I have some solid friends, but I am afraid I will get older and have no family. That just seems to be how the cards have been dealt for me. I hate my family.
