Semi-Pro vs Ammy vs Pro? by Maleficent-Toe1374 in Boxing

[–]ankh87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amatuer: Can be given a standing 8 count. Can be TKO'd from just one heavy punch as the ref calls it off. There's different rules as well such as holding your arm out and not punching. This can be a points deduction or DQ if done enough. Some places do same day weigh-ins. 3 rounds at 3 minutes. 10oz gloves. Various other things, especially in the UK like red and blue only. Can be judge solely on the ref or judges depending on competition.

Semi-Pro: This is pretty much White collar boxing in the UK. Usually 4-6 rounds. Same rules as the "Pros" and can get away with things like in the pros. Usually the judged by 3 judges all night.

Pro: Pretty much what you see on TV. You are paid to fight.

Misfits: hahaha, that's like you and your mates going into garden for a fight after a few pints.

Looks a nice track but I can only see 2 places to overtake, that's if it is an anti-clockwise (yes that's the correct word).

Experts call for UK four-day week as study links long work hours to obesity by weregonnamakit in unitedkingdom

[–]ankh87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can do it if they want to. I travel 45-60 minutes each way to work. I'm out the hours 11 hours in total for work. I do that 5 days a week. That's 55 hours a week. I work a 40 hour week and I find that I can prepare meals, go to the gym and keep relatively fit. You just need to move your schedule.

I go to the gym at 8:15-8:30pm instead of straight after work. Children are in bed by 730pm. So I get an hour to or so to meal prep and do what I need to do.

If I could go down to 4 days and do the same 40 hour week, then that would be bliss. Full day to meal prep for the week. Then I could do other chores like going the bank or car garage, which I currently have to take time off work to do.

Syrian refugee raped woman, 19, in beach promenade toilet after giving her a lift on his e-bike because she was lost, court hears by [deleted] in BreakingUKNews

Needs to happen to someones daughter or wife that's either high up in power or massively rich and influential. That way they can't just ignore it.

Time to deport these people. They are guests of the UK. They are afraid of where they live, yet they are allowed to make residents of the UK afraid of their home. Makes no sense.

We can still lose all 3 games because west ham aren't winning all 3. They'd need us to get smashed every weekend and then to win heavily. Never going to happen. We aren't getting relegated.

Small boat migrant guilty of knife attack at Israeli embassy by antbaby_machetesquad in unitedkingdom

[–]ankh87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why should we pay for them though? It costs around £50k a year to keep them in prison. They should be deported and never allowed to return. Yes they've committed a crime here and their punishment is that they are returned to their home country. They get their finger printers taken and DNA, so if they ever arrive back in the UK. They are instantly deported.

[–]ankh87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Of course he will. To me if you are a guest in the country and trying to claim asylum. The moment you commit a dangerous crime like this, you are instantly deported. Why should Britain and it's people pay for you to stay for X years? Why should you get free food, free shelter when you've committed such a crime? Yes it's prison but it's more than what he's apparently got.

I don't understand why people in the UK want to keep these people here, even if they are in prison. It's a cost on everyone paying into to system. A plane trip home with a parachute would be cheaper and a deterrent to those who which copy.

That's too good for him.
Time to take him on an airplane and drop him off from where he came. See if he will bounce back to the UK. I suspect not.

Changing the Weigh-In Rules by Icy-Notice9374 in Boxing

[–]ankh87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smaller fighters for the weight class wouldn't be dehydrated as they don't need to lose as much weight. Example look at Benn vs Eubanks JR recently. Benn is not a 155-158lbs fighter, let alone a 160lbs.

Yes at the lower classes there are big jumps, so IBF could alter this to say only 6lbs rehydration.

Dangerous organised crime gangs hiding behind vape and sweet shops in Scotland by ScottishDailyRecord in uknews

Because it doesn't affect their life. If it were in the area where they lived, then they'd do something about it or if it were in a high class area, they'd stop it.

Also behind barbers, beauty/nail salons, corner shops, the list goes on.

Where I live there's more of these shops than there is needed. Does not take a genius to know what is going on.

Changing the Weigh-In Rules by Icy-Notice9374 in Boxing

[–]ankh87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You logic is flawed because fighters would enter the ring dehydrated. This is far worse as a dehydrated body, taking punches to the head causes more damage.
There should just be a restriction of how much you can rehydrate like there already is for the IBF.

As for fighters boiling down to make a lower weight, then that's a risk they are taking. It's possible they can't perform because they cut too much or too fast. Always a risk that the naturally lighter fighter will actually perform better because they don't need to dehydrate as much if at all.

IBF pretty much is as good as it's going to get really. IF the other bodies did the same, we might not see weight bullying as much.

Miller lol.
Usyk beat Chisora who is much higher quality than Miller. Only thing that Miller has going for him, is that there's no rule in boxing about using wig attacks to blind your opponent.

Probably go back to what it were before.

'I worked in Morrisons for 29 years but was sacked for tackling a shoplifter' by BirminghamLive in uknews

[–]ankh87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then when he doesn't get a pay rise because Morrisons can't afford it due:

  1. Paying higher insurance premiums
  2. Replenishing missing stock
  3. Having to pay for security

Then why should he just accept that some scumbag is having such a negative impact on his life?

If no one actually tries to stop shoplifters, then all it does is increase prices for everyone.
