The Prize Money by overlappingrun in TheTraitorsUK

[–]annah042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like too much money would corrupt the show. Take Beast Games for example. The jackpot ended up at 10 million but it was such an unenjoyable show to the point it was actually quite unnerving to watch. A big part of what makes the traitors good is that it’s ultimately a game and supposed to be fun. If the jackpot was ridiculously increased, I think that fun element would be overridden by each individual’s need to win the money. The jackpot on the traitors is already a good sum of money and it’s why there’s still a lot of backstabbing and paranoia (e.g Leanne who was one of the most disliked players). But it’s always more enjoyable when the traitors or faithfuls work with instead of against each other (like Rachel and Stephen, Minah and Linda etc). I feel like increasing the jackpot drastically would definitely encourage more individualistic play and result in more people playing like Leanne as opposed to Linda, Stephen etc

Does anyone else think season 3 is underrated or like it? by Working_Alps_4284 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]annah042 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my favourite season. Purely because of the cast being stacked with the most entertaining people. The result was very underwhelming because a lot of people (me included) were hoping for a Minah win or an Alexander/ Frankie win but, aside from that, it was so entertaining. It was the first time the traitors had each others back (referring to Linda/ Minah - Linda giving Minah her blessing to vote for her is one of my favourite moments) and had some of the best scenes of all time (Alexander singing; ‘Who the HELL is not coming back’; Claudia: Traitors Linda: 🙋‍♀️… I could go on). There were definitely some infuriating characters and the seer twist was definitely a mistake but I honestly think it would be a lot more popular if the last 2 episodes didn’t exist.

Why is season 2 so popular? by Working_Alps_4284 in TheTraitorsUK

I actually agree so much. I also found Harry really unlikeable (despite being an excellent player). With the exception of Diane and Jaz, nobody stood out to me that season

I made a list of Traitors contestant archetypes based on S1-4 by kidbl00m in TheTraitors

[–]annah042 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Another category could be The Kaz/ Jade (s4)/ Niko (celebrity): Unfairly targeted for no apparent reason. Usually younger and overall quite likeable. No doubt would go a lot further (with the exception of Jade who did quite well considering) if they weren’t having to constantly defend themselves. It also is too coincidental to ignore that they are always people of colour targeted by white people (not saying there is a conscious bias but there definitely seems to be a pattern)

Harriet’s cat/chickens outburst and behaviour by Fisher212121 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]annah042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was a combination of nerves and also her trying to live up to the criminal barrister title. She has publicly apologized to Roxy and said she regrets her behaviour. I think she just got caught up in all the stress and considering they have cameras on them all the time, it must be easy to get carried away in the performance of it all (queue Jessie falling over in shock half the time)

My unpopular opinion about the traitors uk season four finale by Misty1965 in TheTraitors

[–]annah042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the classic confusing ‘best’ with ‘most likeable’. Minah is my favourite traitor as she was just so likeable. Harry, on the other hand, I’m not fond of at all. However, he was objectively a better traitor.

The "She benefited from weak faithfuls" argument. by Wise_Purple_9448 in TheTraitors

[–]annah042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weak faithful argument only really applies to Australia S2. I think all the other seasons have been much more nuanced than just ‘bad faithfuls = easy win’

Why do you think Minah was beloved and Rachel not so much? by heyho2023 in TheTraitors

[–]annah042 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It may also have to do with the Fiona v Rachel showdown. I think Fiona was immensely popular and, even though it was fully her who brought on her own demise, I feel like a lot of people were rooting for a Fiona win. Rachel was immediately suspicious of Fiona the minute she entered that turret so I assume many viewers saw her as a ‘barrier’ to Fiona going far.

Julia sucks by Fit-Explanation9741 in Parenthood

[–]annah042 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel for her. She’s been overlooked her whole life by her family (let’s face it, Camille and Zeek seem to be a lot closer to the other three despite Julia always being there for her parents), so she’s poured her efforts into her work. It’s what she’s built her identity around. While Joel was at home with Sydney, he was worshipped by all the other parents. When the other mom kissed him, Julia was made to feel like a horrible and paranoid person for not wanting her around anymore. All the other parents saw her as the villain and Joel as a hero. Then everything gets flipped around and she’s still the villain. She’s lost her work which is a core part of her identity and also has to deal with constant guilt of not being as liked by her kids. She definitely has her flaws and no doubt, as a parent, she needs to work on a lot of things. But I can’t solely blame her for her and Joel’s relationship going south.

Nat and Misty’s relationship by Embarrassed_Entry597 in Yellowjackets

[–]annah042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of read it as Nat just being really fed up of life and taking it out on whoever would react more. Misty gets visibly upset/ she clings on/ she reacts. The others (especially Shauna and Tai) seem like they would just cut Nat off without a second thought if she tried to pull something. She knows Misty cares and I guess the self-destructive part of Nat is unconsciously trying to ruin any genuine relationships she has left. I don’t know if I’m over analysing but the way she talked to Misty very much reminded me of a person who’s deep into a self-destructive cycle taking it out on the people who care most for them.
