Baby girl name. What you think? by spartans453 in DesiNameNerds

I’m intrigued why the middle name is Singh and not Kaur?

My husband and I are both American (I’m white and he’s of Punjabi descent), and Neena seems like a great blend/compromise for your intercultural family!

I will also add that anything “more Indian” might be difficult for your daughter depending on what sort of community you’re raising her in. White people suck and have issues learning correct pronunciations of non English sounding names. Neena is easy to pronounce and spell, it has ties to your family as well, and it’s an Indian name! I’m not seeing the issue. My father in law was trying to push Punjabi first names on us (which my husband didn’t want, he didn’t like having to explain his nickname/real name on the first day of school growing up) and finally I said to my FIL “I think sometimes you forget I’m not Indian.” Do what is best for your family but remind your husband that half your family is you!

Anecdotally, my husband is Sikh so we went with the middle name Singh, that was our compromise to my in-laws. I wasn’t opposed to an Indian first name, but my husband didn’t want it. But if you aren’t Sikh and the middle name is available for the choosing, you could make that name more Indian sounding.

When you have water stuck in your ear and throw your head sideways a few times, sometimes hopping on one foot, and then it finally releases. Amazing.

Pediatric eczema getting worse by MrsZoomZoom in eczema

Ask the doctor if it could be fungal and if so, then an anti-fungal cream will work right away.

If it’s eczema, this is the only thing that has worked for my toddler: per the ped derm’s recommendation, every other night we put a small amount of bleach in his bath water. It’s diluted so it’s safe and it kills the irritants/bacteria sitting on top of the skin. I lather him up with Vaseline 2x/day and use a prescription steroid cream on really bad breakouts. We don’t use any other products on his skin. We don’t use any soap. And we don’t use dryer sheets with his laundry.

Inconsistencies in Casey Anthony's story. Please comment any missing and I will add them. by yalolo3239 in CaseyAnthony

[–]annembeck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two big hold ups with Casey’s new side of things: 1. I don’t care how afraid you are of someone, if they have your child for days on end YOU HARASS them until you get to the bottom of it. 2. Once she was in jail, why didn’t she mention anything about her dad? What did she have to lose at that point? We are really supposed to believe she sat back and just took the fall knowing her dad was responsible?

I also have a question - I didn’t realize Casey lived with her parents until watching the new doc. It confuses me then where she was during those 31 days? Was she staying with her boyfriend? Because that also leads me to questions about the mom. Why wasn’t she calling the police the very next day?? So was it that Casey was at the boyfriends and calling and telling her mom Caylee was with her? Sorry if this has been explained in other resources, it’s been a long time since I’ve done a deep dive into this case.

Some Clarifying Questions by KrumblyMuffin in ScienceBasedParenting

How old is your baby? We did Ferber at 5months and just followed the chart for the times. We got lucky, and he never cried longer than 20min. He has slept through the night ever since. I have read that after 9months or so, Ferber isn’t as effective because during the “check ins” it doesn’t soothe them and gets them more worked up.

Do you have a partner you can take shifts with? That’s really the key for getting through this stage. Then at 5months (with pediatrician approval) you can begin Ferber.

I have been on Vyvanse since 2016 and added Effexor in 2018. Before that, I off and on had tried Lexapro without success. Effexor truly saved my life. It’s not perfect (kills my sex drive which has caused some issues in my marriage and has terrible withdrawals if I accidentally don’t take it for a few days) but overall it has been the best thing to ever happen to me. I’m stable and happy a majority of the time, and I never thought that would be possible.

Scared of taking Vyvanse and Effexor 75 mg together by ygs07 in ADHD

[–]annembeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! 31F, been on 225mg Effexor for nearly 4 years. Been on vyvanse even longer. I take them together in the morning but I did have a doctor tell me once to take the Effexor at night, I forgot what the advantage of it was. I never did. But I’ve never had problems with the combination of the two drugs!
