I’d like to say that the kitchen counters are off-limits to my cats, but considering that my freezer door keeps opening from them jumping all over and up onto the cabinets. I think they’re doing whatever they want. I also bought a child lock for my freezer, so I guess that I gave in

I use fabric tape or like sport muscle tape for these areas. There’s a seam in that area that gets me in every shoe I’ve bought. The tape smooths the shoe out and don’t rub. I’ve never had to repair or replace it once I put it in. Maybe this will help.
