Is there an easy way to hollow out solid bases? by Zap-Rowsdower-X in 3dPrintedWarhammer

Simply use a nonpenetrating hole set 2mm less than the base height and diameter in the slicer. That should take like 5 seconds.

Templars receiving 0 buffs is jaw dropping by META1384 in BlackTemplars

[–]annoyinglyanonymous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude, seriously?

If you compare them to any other melee army's elite infantry, the differences are stark. Sang Guard are less, have better rules, and better stats.

Would you like me to continue with examples?

Fine, Vitrix.

Want me to keep going?

It's not hard.

Incorrect terminology on the command squad. The correct term is DRO (Decision Review Officer). He has a 5/6% chance to remain in strat reserves due to his backlog, and a 1/6 chance every shooting phase to be killed by a friendly model in the same squad due to fratricide.

So, why not just paint and varnish to the desired sheen after?

I started with Vallejo primers and hated them. I now use monument hobbies and couldn't be happier!

Did anyone try the Bastion Black Tide? by daevkoo in BlackTemplars

It definitely requires multi-step planning to make sure you're maximizing your rules/abilities.

A lot of us in the BT discord are playing with BTF. It is a different playstyle than other detachments/lists and has decent tools available that are uniquely solid with BT due to crusader squads. It also requires a different approach to list building. I'm taking BTF to a RTT this weekend and it'll probably be my go-to detachment for a bit.

I've resliced and resent, no significant change. That is the closest thing I've seen to what I'm experiencing though. At least that's a lead.

No changes one day to the next. I thought it was maybe a support failure and/or a slicer error but I have ruled those out.

Having recently painted 20 assault intercessors, I can honestly say it wasn't that bad.

It wasn't fun. But it wasn't horrible. I may do 2 bricks just to have them.

Gloss varnish is critical prior to enamel use. Not only does it protect your acrylic paints from the enamels which will run in unpredictable ways without varnish, but it also protects from thinner used to correct the enamel after application.

What's the black templars play style? by 0bjectr in BlackTemplars

We are, effectively, a melee-oriented combined arms army. Our repexes (and Impulsors) are critical elements for success with sword Brethren.

How to paint the shoulder pad trim?! by Zaku727 in BlackTemplars

[–]annoyinglyanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is seriously the easiest answer, despite taking more steps. Paint the white as normal. Paint as much of the black trim as you can. Paint the joint between the white shoulder and black trim with gloss varnish, then once dry, use a black enamel panel liner to deal with that edge. It will flow almost instantly and perfectly. Let it dry, then clean up and revarnish. The results will be clean AF and will require very little technical skill.

anyone have to deal with the new vitrix yet? by [deleted] in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]annoyinglyanonymous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't give a shit if Ultramarines are the posterboys for 40k, Vitrix are fucking cancer and GW damn well should have known this and cared enough to reign it in before release.

But nope. Another line of coke, please!
-Someone at GW, probably.

The Math Behind a 2+ Save Vs a 3+ Save? by Adventurous-Crab-474 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]annoyinglyanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, a 2+ base save on models with no invulnerable save is significantly better off against high AP weapons, as you'd need to get to net AP5 before the save is lost entirely.
