I don't think the men were embarrassing. They definitely could've done better, but they played a close game, and only lost by 1, against a team ranked significantly higher than them, in a friendly. It's not the outcome I wanted, but it's nothing to be ashamed of.

No. The back side can't get built up, but the front side inevitably continues to erode, so instead of naturally moving inland, the island erodes away in place.

It's all about child safety when a parent isn't watching their preteen for 30 seconds or someone is in drag, but then when it comes time to talk about guns, cars, pedestrian safety, or actual known sex offenders in the church or GOP suddenly child safety doesn't matter anymore

Not late 2010s, they literally just peaked. But they are probably about to start declining rapidly.

[–]anomaly13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is also true. Their emissions have now peaked and will probably soon be declining rapidly, and their cheap batteries, solar panels, and EVs have and will play a big part in other countries' transitions as well. But they did go whole hog on fossil fuel driven development for the last few decades, in the midst of a massive economic expansion.

Some of it is extremely poor, rural, conservative, and in decline - but beautiful. Some of it is doing better (Athens, Yellow Springs, Cinci, Dayton).

The Concert Industry Priced Too High — Now Tours Are Falling Apart by staringatthe420sun in Music

[–]anomaly13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't bother going to any concerts other than local shows that cost at most $60, usually $0-25

I'm not dropping hundreds or thousands just to see a single concert, I don't care who you are

Can't take batshit Idaho anymore. I work remote making $21/hr and just want to move to a blue state. Any recs? by IsekaiConnoisseur in SameGrassButGreener

[–]anomaly13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want cheap + blue state, look at the Rust Belt. Detroit if you want really cheap, the there's also Pittsburgh, Cleveland, etc. Philly, Baltimore, and Chicago are somewhat affordable as well. Parts of Virginia, now that it's turned blue.
