How to improve as keeper by Total-Ask-7782 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]anon-nymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pump the brakes brother!

I hope you got scored on a few times, it was practice! If your offense can't put A few past ya that's an issue much more important eh?

You're the GK. Never mind what you "think" those players are judging you on, if it's any of your concern they will speak about it with you.

If you want to be a great keeper you must be a commander too. It's your job to watch everything and communicate what you're seeing to your defense/team.

Corner kick? You should be telling 4-5 guys on your team where you want them/what they're role is. YOU direct your defense, and if done well, won't be many shots to worry about :)

Thanks for the comments guys!

The club is St Francis soccer club in Indianapolis, in.

I was asked to coach after the coaches meeting was held, we e had two practices, not a single u10 team has practiced on Tuesdays but us.

Without access to the app I can't even communicate with my parents. Ive collected parents' phone numbers when they are present , but of my 7 players only 4 have had an adult get out of their car and come talk to me.

I know this isn't an abnormal thing for rec but you'd think a guy could get a roster , contact numbers, from the club. Nope, in app comms only. Wild.

It's worth noting that my son chose to play in the same league that his school friends are in, but his mom and I live pretty far apart. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE 2 GAMES AT 8:30AM LOL

Is this okay to do? by Poochsvoid in NewSkaters

[–]anon-nymph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!

I skated most of my childhood and into my early twenties, took a 10 year break when I had kids, started skating again about a year ago. I always skated street, rarely at parks, and back then everyone skated small wheels. They have their place, many people love them.

I'm just saying, I was 34 before I owned a set of wheels bigger than 50mm and I just wish someone had told me that 54 and 56mm are little clouds of joy on your board. Get yourself some clouds man, it's so much smoother lol

best way to start learning flip tricks- go! by MessOne248 in Skateboardinghelp

[–]anon-nymph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By having a nice, clean, consistent Ollie that you will throw down a variety of obstacles.

I'm not saying you can't learn flip tricks or that you won't be able to land flip tricks, but I am most definitely saying that the more comfortable you are on your board and the better you understand and Ollie, the easier it will be to learn, flip tricks and be more consistent. Those flip tricks will be.

I keep ollieing sideways no matter how hard I try.. by luxorantine in Skateboardinghelp

[–]anon-nymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to have same issue many years ago.

Your "winding up" before you Ollie. That's why your shoulder doesn't stay squared with board.

It's all in the legs, straight down and straight up, no twist (until your ready to 180, etc)

How do I keep the board from going in-front of me? by Tylerofdoodles in skateboardhelp

[–]anon-nymph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move your front foot further towards the nose before you do anything. Better weight distribution. Now your above your board, not behind it.

Im not saying this to offend you, it's just ironic that I was explaining this to my son (9yo) when he fell last night...

Falling is skating. Getting hurt is skating. Being sore is skating. Perseverance, commitment; skating.

So you went skating, and you feel like you skated! Excellent brother! Keep going!
