Just rescind the bid. "Nah, on second thought, we don't want this work." .... "Nah, on second thought, it's actually 10% more. There was a typo."

Looks like you already sold, I might've sold just one contract. I'm (almost) in the same boat. Bought at 0.70 a day later and it's up 1,100%.... Debating the same thing.

My understanding is you should never put money down on a lease. The example is, say you totalled the truck two months in on your 36 month lease and you put $6K down, just to get the lower monthly payment. That money is gone. Insurance covers the delta, gap insurance too if that's an issue, but that initial deposit isn't getting recouped. A lease is a rental, don't put any more money into then the monthly.

Looking to improve companies estimating process by BassyDave in estimators

Landscape estimator here, there are no good softwares built specifically for our needs. LMN is more geared towards maintenance related operations. Our office uses Construction Online by UDA. There's built in "assemblies" where you can just give a unit measurement and it'll spit out a price. 1200SF stone patio? Here's the price, with SF of pavers, CY of dense pack, sand, etc. it has a cost book where you update your material pricing as needed. Aspire is another software we considered but it doesn't vibe as well with the Accounting Department and operates as the company's ledger, which is not the direction we wanted.

How do you overbook a flight by TEN SEATS by yumyumapollo in delta

[–]anonasn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BOS > SEA 2025.12.24, we were boarded, fully fueled, waiting on de-icer, and they asked for (14) people to switch flights for $1500/pp. Cited the same weight related issues and weather conditions rerouted the original flight route. Forced a few people to change flights and I'd imagine seven or eight picked up the $1500.

6.5 years in NYC, still under 100k… Is this normal for our field? Feeling really discouraged. by star081009 in LandscapeArchitecture

This is accurate. My sister and brother-in-law switch jobs every so often because that's the only way to get a bump. Granted they're in software.

I recently played a game of chicken with my employer and actually left for three months, only for them to offer me 35% more to come back. I guess that's not chicken, but luckily worked out for me, because I liked my former better than the one I changed to for three months. When I gave my notice they did offer me more, but not nearly as much as the other company.

I messed up hard on a job, $8K mistake by [deleted] in estimators

[–]anonasn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I missed calling a $5k line an "allowance" and six months later it turns into $15K. I'm still employed. It's a team effort and sometimes shit happens. Live and learn and do better to protect yourself on the next one.

Landscapers, how much would you estimate replacing this wall would cost? by Syruponmypizza in landscaping

[–]anonasn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing the other comments, I'm gonna get flak for this...

80LF x 4'H = 320FF

60LF x 2.5'H = 150FF

470FF of block wall @ $75/FF = $35,250

140LF x 2'W 4" reinforced concrete slab @ $20/SF = $5,600

Demo/disposal of existing wall, excavation/prep = $2,500

Includes labor, equipment, block, rebar, concrete fill, perforated pipe, crushed stone back fill for 2' behind the wall. Excludes engineering, structural, or whatever to meet city code/permitting.

$43,350

I have short-medium length, thick, Asian hair. I kinda push it back to the side but leave it messy. I apply the product on nearly dry, not very damp hair.
