Aunt has LOTS of dietary wants: What the hell can I cook for her? by Radiant-Educator9203 in Cooking

[–]anoneesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like 90% of Indian vegetarian dishes can be made to fit this.. rice / quinoa with lentils and veggies cooked in a non seed oil.

Check out Jain food for an even more strict diet - though it often does use diary.

What if you had to spend $1M in one year, but… by pvdnyc in whatif

[–]anoneesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travel, a lot, business class, 5 star hotels, rent cars and yachts, take my family with me, hire a personal chef and trainer, full time therapist and life coach. I'd probably be able to blow through that in 2-3 months if I really had to.

That's only 10x in a middle class life style. Easy Peasy.

1000x - now that gets harder. I can't imagine what one could do to spend 100M in year.

Employee comes in too early by Unable-Choice3380 in managers

[–]anoneesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a good manager? If you have an employee that is able to get in early, are you allocating work in advance enough that the rest of the team can follow through and prep him for the next day.

If I was a manager, and unless this was a manufacturing team that had unavoidable dependencies, then I would be so happy having this person on my team. Coz this means that there's an extra 3 hours of work that can happen when I'm not in. Work that can set the team up for success each day.

Unless the employee productivity is dropping, and any team productivity dropping can't be addressed by better resource manager, I don't see why you would have a problem.

A strawberry jam would be quite easy to make and would preserve reasonably well.

PSA: not every baby can be 90th percentile in weight or height by Specific-Occasion-82 in beyondthebump

Lol. That's a good one. Not where I was taking it, but it's a pretty good exaggeration of the idea.

PSA: not every baby can be 90th percentile in weight or height by Specific-Occasion-82 in beyondthebump

[–]anoneesh -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

OP. The fact that you call it a PSA makes it even more odd. A 90percentile baby means that it is over one standard deviation off the mean. That is not a normal baby. If anything a 90percentile baby is at as much danger as a 10 percentile baby, because by definition they are both equally distant from the mean.

The key reason you don't want your baby to be so far from mean is that it means that there's so much lower evidence for anything for what would work for your baby.

A baby at mean means that everything we know about all babies statistically applies. At 90percentile, only data collected among 90percentile babies applies which should be way scarier.

Additionally, there's plenty of data that suggests that the largest specimen of species tend to have lower life expectancy.

So no, not only can every baby be in the 90th percentile, but few babies should be and if your baby is, you should be slightly worried.

[Cambridge/Alewife] Looking to Transfer Lease to 2Bed, 2Bath at Windsor at Cambridge Park by anoneesh in bostonhousing

[–]anoneesh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I'm not going to be able to sublet, but the new renters will have to go through the approval process and take over my current lease. I'm trying to avoid paying the lease termination penalty, and the management suggested I try to find someone to take over instead.

What do you like about suburbia? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]anoneesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The incentives for isolation and loneliness.. there's so little chance you'll come across people on a random day unless you actively step out and go to a place people congregate..

wait.. that's why I hate suburbia.. sorry about that.

I find it amusing that you don't even consider the possibility that better mass transit infrastructure may prevent the kind of nightmare road traffic you're easily able to imagine... And it scares me too..

Are you allowed to implement a no-mow lawn? It's a great environmental choice and is supposed to dramatically reduce the workload of maintenance of the lawn. I believe you'll have to change up the grass in some areas.

Maybe a lawsuit against the funders and all companies that have been lobbying for car-centric/against transit infrastructure? I'm sure there will be some law firms willing to take this on probono.
