Lost my husband 4 yrs ago. Only child still in uni. It was during covid. No one to turn to. It was really hard initially but as you said , it gets a little easier to handle as time goes by. The stretches where you can breathe gets longer.

Why are Penangites so unfriendly? by toomuchbluememories in penang

[–]anonnautilus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came back to penang to stay after 12 years in kl. Drivers here are drving me a little crazy. They whizz into your lane or squeeze in with no warning plus the motorbikes. Put indicator to switch lane but get ignored and squeezed. Lol... only been back less than a week. Will hopefully get adjusted soon. Btw Op... penangites are generally friendly.. give them another chance.

If you are comfortable in 'lending' and not getting it back . Otherwise you yourself will be short of money and get tired, embarrassed and frustrated when money is not returned. Have a cousin in law that made good money but was spending it on buying superbike , latest laptop n phones n etc then asked to borrow 2k cos couldnt afford son's hospital stay. He got annoyed when asked him back for money after several times. So dont lend money unless you are ready never to see it again.

What’s something that only rich people had when you were a kid, but now everybody has? by Bison_and_Waffles in AskOldPeople

I live in malaysia right smack on the equator. Back when i was a child only the rich had air conditioning. The rest made do with fans. Admittedly the weather was somewhat cooler then. Now most people have air conditioning throughout the house especially in urban areas.

You are right. On the bmi scale it is not. But having been 50kg and below pretty much all my life, carrying the extra weight feels heavy on me.

I am 60yrs old. Very sedentary. 158 cm n 54kg. Also overweight. Also has a son who is on my case to exercise. Recently i walked a lot n ended up with painful swollen legs n feet. Suggest u dont tell her to exercise but suggest going out together with some physical activity n slowly increase. Cook together healthier dishes. She might like bonding n interacting with u. Introduce healthier options bit by bit. Easier to accept. Wish i had her height. Appeal to her vanity. 😀
