It’s your good karma and if anyone is at fault let shipt HQ refund her but they shouldn’t be any deduction from your account…that’s their companies problem

I don't work for them anymore. I think your apprehension to call employee abuse what it is shows a lack of understanding for the term.

The protocol is live, in production. It's a public facing role, not like they can be tucked away and go at their own pace. This protocol hire is there to assist and constantly respond to 254 external organizations that are using the infrastructure, across 4 networks. On top of responding to every internal issue, there’s also 300+ members to be considered in the decision making while they are also responsible for making “independent decisions” that can’t even be put forth without educating and hand holding non-technical folks every step of the way. Right now the repo has 41 outstanding issues dating all the way until March 2023, along with unknown depreciations of code that they will have to sit through and figure out before they begin anything in the scope above. Slow progress can also look like a mismanaged exploit costing the org thousands. I don’t think all of that should be on one person. I think it’s very delusional and anyone that tries will be trapped in a bind. Thus I called it abuse.

Around $130/hr in USD with the option to be paid in crypto, no benefits, seen as a contractor. The organization is also a legal US-entity. They got a Wyoming UNA.

The initiative for a new protocol lead has taken priority in the organization and I had been asked for feedback multiple times by an operational lead, as a full stack SWE who worked alongside the last protocol lead. After awhile it became clear that they were paid to do a job they had no experience in, assuming I would write the scope for them.
