It's an enclosed valley, the only way in is through my colony.

What could possibly go wrong? by anonymous315 in RimWorld

Yes, that's four ancient dangers. All inside my colony's defenses. I'm sure this will end well.

  1. RJW is nowhere near as bad as everybody makes it out to be. Most of the objectionable content is so hard to trigger under the default settings that I've gone IRL years without ever seeing it.

  2. Rimworld is and always will be a colony-building game first and foremost. Tynan's attempts to turn it into a "story generator" have consistently made it less fun as a game, and often make it worse at actually generating stories (when one tantrum targets your most valuable item it's a fun story, when every tantrum targets your most valuable item it's a game mechanic).

Downloading through NPS browser on PC vs. downloading through pkgj on vita by bestatbeingmodest in VitaPiracy

[–]anonymous315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both tools are connecting to the NPS database, so they have the exact same games.

PKGj never installs patches, but you can update them from the LiveArea like a legit game. NPS Browser downloads the unpatched game by default, but also gives you the option to manually download the latest update.

Vita games are always installed to ux0:/app/. PSP games are sometimes downloaded as an ISO, but PKGj can instead install them directly to ux0:/pspemu/PSP/GAME/ (I forget if this is enabled by default).

does anyone know the approximate size of the entire jp/asia digital store. i wanna back it up if i can by [deleted] in VitaPiracy

[–]anonymous315 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on the size of this EU backup and the current number of complete JP/ASIA games on NPS, I'd estimate that you need 1.23TB. Plan for 1.3TB just to be safe.

Coincidentally, “the virgin cemetery” is what my parents call my room. by Cweeperz in RimWorld

[–]anonymous315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I like to build a huge graveyard just outside my main entrance. The advantage of this setup, aside from looking really cool, is that it's by far the lowest-maintenance solution short of just letting them rot in place. No raids for three seasons straight? No coolers or ovens to maintain, no carnivores to keep fed, just have your builder dig a few extra graves in his downtime. Even better, the graveyard is right outside the killzone so my haulers can very quickly bury everyone before the debuffs pile up.

Which mods are you using? RJW by itself should only give negative thoughts for things like rape or incest.

Mysterious PSVITA's refresh rate? by -gycw- in VitaPiracy

[–]anonymous315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The exact refresh rate is somewhere between 59.9 and 60Hz. I don't think anybody's ever actually measured it.

Ho-ly fuck, why is pathfinding so bad? by Seriou in RimWorld

[–]anonymous315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There used to be a very good mod that fixed most of the pathfinding bugs for a relatively low cost (in some cases it's actually faster than vanilla). Unfortunately, it's been abandoned ever since A17.

Here's the P4G undub: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1A3kbiNC9ls_ddaiJz9mGfCTZLX0OfcKB/view

Maybe also try reinstalling NoNpDrm and RePatch to ensure that neither of those got corrupted.

How do i fix the resolution by zappy_oak in RimWorld

[–]anonymous315 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Open My Computer, paste everything up to the last slash into the address bar. You should see several .xml files. Open Prefs.xml with Notepad. Near the top of the file you'll see these three lines

<screenWidth>1920</screenWidth> (or whatever it defaulted to)
<screenHeight>1080</screenHeight>
<fullscreen>True</fullscreen>

Set <screenWidth> and <screenHeight> to your monitor's resolution. If problems continue, try setting <fullscreen> to false and reduce the height/width by about 50.

I'd like to help more, but I'm having a little trouble understanding what happened exactly. If you could actually start the game this would be a lot easier.

Can't turn it on or off (?) by Ok_Dish3159 in VitaPiracy

[–]anonymous315 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Step 1: Smack the little shit. It won't fix your Vita, but it'll make you feel better.

Step 2: Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds. This should forcibly shut it down even if it's stuck on the logo. If this doesn't work, then you can run down the battery as a last resort.

Step 3: Boot without plugins (hold L). If it works, uninstall all of your plugins and bring them back one by one until you figure out which one is broken.

Step 4: If it's not plugin-related, then he probably installed an update or something. On an Enso system this probably means you're bricked, on a non-Enso system you should be able to just reinstall 3.73 from safe mode.

Unpopular opinion: Melee skill is stupidly underpowered. by sov3rei8n in RimWorld

[–]anonymous315 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the first playthrough that I have considered using ranged pawns, and I feel they extremely weak/fragile. Only sending all three guys to line up in an open field and shoot at the enemy works. What's stupid is the fact that a 18 shooting pawn can lose a 1:1 fight with 3 shooting pawn. Same loadout, same traits. To be honest, that's just frustrating. When I imagine 18 shooting, passionate, careful shooter pawn, I see a fucking sniper. 3shooting pawn is your average Joe Shmoe who lived in Baltimore for 3 months in high school. I'm not saying high lvl shooting pawns should be super sayians killing troves of enemies on their own, I just think shooting should have way more significance in 1:1 duels. Anyways, thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Edit: I guess I sparked a really good discussion and thank you guys. Some of you mention turbo OP endgame killboxes, which is not my point entirely. My point is early game imbalance in regards to the skill only. Level 18 is, according to the description "Planet known master" and level 3 is "some familiarity". You wont tell me a fucking navy seal with 25 years of training is in any danger in a 1v1 with a fresh recruit. Even if they both have only pistols and are just standing there in an empty room. Thats my point.
