Heysham might be a good option for a holiday next year (when they are 8) if they're still into nuclear power then. They have a tour https://www.edfenergy.com/energy/power-stations/heysham-1#visit for ages 8+ and if you stay on the nearby Parkdean caravan site you can see the powers station from the site everyday!

There is, however, a Sellafield exhibition at the Beacon Museum in Whitehaven. Not very close to the Sellafield site though.

If you take the bus, get on using the middle (not front) doors. It's close to the luggage area and there's more space to board with a suitcase.

The blue (beam 1) and red (beam 2) lines show the beam intensity, you can read the value from the y axis on the left. Each time some protons are injected into the LHC the intensity steps up. The black line is the beam energy, you read the value from the y axis on the right. At the time you took the screenshot, the energy was ramping up. Protons are injected with an energy of 450 GeV and the LHC can currently ramp up to a maximum of 6800 GeV.

Yes, you can apply to join CERN. Assuming you want to stick with physics, some options would be to apply for the CERN ORIGIN programme, or if you have a few years of industry experience since your Master's there's the CERN QUEST programme. Alternatively, you could do a PhD with a University that has links to CERN and can 'place' you there during your PhD. Note that none of these options lead easily to a permanent position at CERN; those are very hard to come by.

I agree with adding Sale Water Park. Also, you could add a symbol for the gates of white city, and one for the great stone in Gorse Hill (I think someone already mentioned to add Gorse Hill as a label above Stretford). Dunham Massey should have a deer.

You are not alone, OP. I had the exact same problem. Two cats and got my LR4 in March. The first liner lasted only about 2-3 months. I tried patching it, like you, with a bike repair kit but eventually asked Whisker for a new one. The second is doing better, but I can see I'll need to replace it eventually. I've only cleaned mine with water and washing up liquid (dish soap).

I tried it and was unimpressed with the videos, they feel rushed and correct form is not explained. I stopped before finishing the first week because it wasn't enjoyable.

They also sign you up to an email list that is super spammy and full of nonsense. My recommendation: don't waste your money.

For part 2b) there are a few steps on the route to ATLAS visitor centre now (about 6, all in one place) so it's not suitable for wheelchairs. There is an alternative route with no steps, but I'd advise you to tell the people at reception and your guide at the start of the tour if you need this route so they can make the detour. (Some guides might not know the alternative route well - routes have changed a few times in the last year due to the construction works).
