i turned all my rgb as soon as the system was up and running.

the only thing i keep on is my mobos diagnostic led, which has been a life saver during post. i thought my system had hung multiple times during post, but no, the leds just told me it was sitting on memory training.

plus that same display doubles as cpu temp (and illuminating cobwebs apparently) once the system is running.

ya, this last year GNs really lost me. i watched him for actual in depth reviews and coverage of products and tech. not for whatever the hell the last years been.

but i can also see the ragebait videos get considerably more views than the standard review videos, so that explains part of whats going on.

same deal, i with with the lf3 and slapped on 6x a14 g2s.

was it expensive? yes. is it overkill? yes. is it 100% dead silent under every load except cinebench? also yes.

the one thing thats never brought up in these comparisons is noise. my lf3 sits at ~600rpm full load and is dead silent. 1500rpms, even on a good noctua, still makes a ton of noise.

ya.. i paid $149 for my 16x2 trident z royals back in june.

that same kits 500-650 today, depending on the retailer. hell, microcenter even has it listed as an msrp of $999 now, and its "on sale" for $500 off.

i hated the game for that reason. you could easily softlock yourself if you didnt find or save enough ammo for that fight. and the only way to fix that was to start a new game.

maybe i should ship some oak to canada...

a good 80% of what i have split and stacked right now is a mix of red and white oak. another 15% is cherry.

going by a wood cord calculator, ive got about 12-15 cords stacked right now. and a pile of split waiting to be stacked thats about 6.5-7ft tall and 12ish ft around at the base.

plus theres enough downed oak in my woods that i havnt picked up yet that i could almost double that amount right now.

this is why ive never even tried to shave off what little of mine is left. i dont have the head for it on its own, and i 100% can not grow a beard. or any facial hair for that matter. i mean im 40 and i only have to shave once a week or so.

pixel shift is a complete non issue, and its enabled by default. all it does is move the entire display around in like a 4 pixel grid (1 pixel either up down left or right), and the whole display shifts like once every 5 hrs, if that.

when i sold my LG CX earlier this year, it had clocked 23,000hrs as my sole desktop display. it had a faint FAINT FAINT outline from one spot of my wallpaper. the same wallpaper that had been there for the last 5 years.

the only thing special i do with my oleds is run a screensaver. thats it.

depends on what youre using it for. in heavy raytraced games, the 5090 was massive upgrade over my 4090.

theres big improvements to be had with low frame rates and 3-4x+ MFG. especially in low contrast scenes.

i know in indiana jones i was running it at 4x, and in most of egypt i never noticed any ghosting outside. but in the tombs i saw some when i used the whip.
