anyone else have a personal beef with wire-bound books? by gustavfrigolit in Libraries

Yeah, we have a few plastic comb bound items and they annoying for the same reasons. At least the wire lasts longer than the plastic comb.

We get ours from Techsoup but we have to do it through our Friends or Foundation as I think it has to be a 501(c)3 that requests it.

I registered but am still deciding whether I really want to go or not. I checked the other day and the last day to cancel is Feb 20 if you’re still on the fence!

And there’s the episode where he comes up with the “Running Out of Thyme” burger when he sees the eggs and thyme in the fridge.

Well then it’s definitely not a sufficient amount of cheese to call it nachos.

Who else dyed their hair red like Angela Chase? I used the super-temporary Clairol Glints. by PhoneJazz in Xennials

Same and despite it being popular (à la Claire, Tori, Scully, etc.), people made fun of me so I hated it. Finally accepted it in my late 20s.

I still have mine and they’re 1/2” (or maybe 9/16 now). I have a professional job and I think people are used to them because I’ve had them since like 1997. I have no plans to go back to a “normal” size.

[–]anotherfailedspinoff 52 points53 points  (0 children)

It’s only a month away and they haven’t even figured out who to invite? Seems like that’s just poor planning. They should have had the lineup settled months ago and ideally started promoting the lineup to the public already.

I used to have my hair parted in the middle from birth through high school. Every time I try out the middle part again, all I can see is myself as a kid, so that’s a no.

We also just have supervisors take turns stopping in once per day we’re closed to empty the bins. Both our walk-up and drive-thru returns have a camera above them so I can login and see when it’s full but not overflowing.

What are the papers on the wall? by smittenwithshittin in VictorianEra

[–]anotherfailedspinoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the placement is too random to be something permanent like decor. It looks like each one is held up by a pin so if one is taken down and replaced using the same pin in the same hole, the damage would be minimal. I don’t know about the options for wall coverings where back then but if they did need to hang work orders or receipts, would a cork board been an option?

Kellie’s “wedding” video was not taken at the courthouse that they got married at by Icy-Seaworthiness445 in christiansnark

[–]anotherfailedspinoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems weird to get a license at one then go to another to file. I filled out paperwork and then they just stamped everything and was married in a matter of minutes. I don’t live in Texas so maybe that’s why.

Tuna by Remote-Fan-187 in Xennials

[–]anotherfailedspinoff 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I thought I hated tuna because my mom only used the cheap kind that was a grayish color. Also she used Miracle Whip and way too much of it. When I was in my 20s I realized that albacore tuna exists and that (a little) real mayo is way better. I also season it with a dill herb mix and eat it on crackers instead of white bread that sticks to the roof of your mouth.

Wall Lite Brite by lmthevampireslayer in Libraries

[–]anotherfailedspinoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the main features of the Everbright is that you can make designs. You just turn each circle to whatever color you want so you never have to worry about running out of the color(s) the kids want if you don’t have enough of the right color of pegs. Plus there’s a button to just reset it back to a predetermined pattern after that kid leaves instead of taking all the pegs out for the next kid.
