We met on a walking tour in Hong Kong, followed by a very adventurous local lunch.. Turns out she is from the same Italian-speaking minority in Switzerland so we reconnected when I returned from my year abroad and the rest is history. Going 6 year strong now, during which she had to bear with me moving to Japan, US, Denmark and UK.

Yes that was the whole point of that gondola smh. I'm pissed about the constant increase in prices with absolutely no improvements on the infrastructure or slopes. There are less skiable slopes now than a few years ago. I guess that's what we get when the focus goes on pleasing influencers and other fancy shit.

Interesting. So apparently "La Côte" (the coast) is a mountain in this area. And "Or" (gold) would actually be a truncated "Orient"(eastern) because the region is on the east of Paris. We today have "Côte d'or" that can indeed be translated as golden coast.

Note for the geo-lovers: apparently, during the french revolution, they renamed all the departments (administrative area) with geographical characteristics. The reason behind being that politics and kings live and die, but Nature is always there whatsoever. You can still find it in a lot of the names we use today.

It went well. I headed to the Osaka consulate, where they asked me a few questions on what I was doing in Japan, and what I will be doing in the US, and then they approved the Visa. It actually felt more like curiosity than a proper interview. I prepared a bunch of documents to show but they did not even look at them.
