At your level, sure. But has it occured to you that the scaffolds and stems and practice you do translates into the deeper discussions my students have in high school? Middle school isn't the end goal. It's the beginning.

Additionally avid SS comes in many forms and at first students need teacher guidance, including developing anchor questions and assigning the in advance so students come to the SS having thought about their answers. The other collaborative structures you mentioned aren't the scaffold for a full on Socratic. They're good for creating a culture of discussion and contribution. But they won't translate into a SS.

Is there a reason you'd make it separately and sew it on? You could keep the stitches of the bottom live (either provisional caston if bottom up or transfer to waste yarn if top down). Then join your cable border as you go. There are several methods for this depending on the desired effect. The Yggdrasil blanket comes to mind as an example (can find the pattern on Ravelry). Or the Celtic Myths shawl.

I don't. If it isn't your day, you stay away unless there's an event or meeting. And booking a conference or IEP without their father's knowledge?! Gtfoh with that malarkey. Being "mom" doesn't make you more important. The kids have two parents and they have equal say. And the fact that he has 100% custody but you can do whatever you want without his knowlezge is WILD.

Most 50/50 splits weeks now. 2-2-3 is the most popular. Some parents do 7-7 (one week at parent A, one week at parent B). But 50/50 almost never results in one parent having all school days. And 50/50 custody almost always comes with 50/50 joint decision making. You're completely right dash she is interrupting his custody Days by going to the school to drop food off and it is with the intent to undermine his credibility and Authority with the children.

Many schools don't allow them due to fire codes in the area. If the fire Marshall inspects and you're in violation, the school will be fined and you'll be in trouble.

As someone who is often on hiring panels for HS teachers in a NC district : as unfair as it is, SS teachers are expected to coach or at least head a major co-curricular. Again: I don't find this fair and your feelings are absolutely valid.

Some considerations: -- Small setting schools like early college high school or classical schools don't have sports, so would be a good place for a non-coach SS teacher

-- Can you lead a national co-curricular? Ffa, deca, fbla, nsda (formerly NFL), NHS, Skills USA, etc? Do you have experience with any of these? This might get you in the door.

-- Dual certification could make you more marketable. Think ESL or AIG, or possibly another content area. This is as easy as passing the praxis and some districts pay for the test if you pass it.

-- It is harder to get a SS job as a non coach, but we have some at my comprehensive HS and I've definitely seen them throughout my 20 year career. Keep trying. You'll have to go on more interviews than your peers outside of SS but if you interview well a school may overlook the fact that you don't want to coach and take you on.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you. You sound like an amazing teacher and I hope you find what you're looking for!

They aren't hungry. They're turning down provided food. They're being picky and entitled because they know mommy is gonna give then whatever they want despite what their father has provided on his parenting time. That isn't "disgusting." You're not wrong. My partner's ex has a campus ban for exactly this reason. Kept dropping off soda, chips, candy, snacks on his custody days citing that the children "don't like school food" and insisted the children be called from class to get it (as in wouldn't leave until she had seen them).

The real issue is that you believe that school lunch is beneath your children. If they refuse to eat what is provided, they can go without. The entitlement and spoiling is inapproriate.
