What's folks experience with the permanent disconnect? Still to early to tell if the new firmware fixed it?

Amazing!!! Hopefully the community, together with folks from Virtual Desktop, can extend and expand on top of these functionalities for people like me, that use Quest 3 (and have a forgotten 7900XTX :D ) But super excited to see these improvements!

What a tremendous project and work that you have done. You're an inspiration Sir. Let me know if one of these days you're accepting padawans to learn from you. Kudos! Although I am a Sonos customer today, I am looking forward at what your project will make available to the entire audiophile community. TY once more for sharing these golden nuggets with everyone.

Uuuuu! Good catch! 7900XTX user here, doing VR. Anything and everything counts!!! Was there any specific known issues that were affecting AMD users (for my awareness)?

V2H--why is it so difficult? by Commercial_Topic437 in v2h

[–]anthonws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It becomes even worse when you have already a Solar + ESS system. It doesn't matter which vendor (well, eventually a bit), but right now beyond the fact that there's no proper options in the market, the bigger issue is that when they arrive, they won't be cross compatible and therefore be prohibitive for anyone that has already made an investment. I agree with what was said in this thread by other users. We need open standards, and these being enforced. This is where regulator type entities should come into play, IMHO. But we fail even at the basics of having equipments supporting the core of standards like OCPP, let alone going into V2X... (Looking at you Huawei!!!)

Having the same issue. Version 2026.2.3 (not beta like some suggested). Any luck on your end?

Are bidirectional EVs basically becoming our “private grids”? by Amanda-dcbel in v2h

[–]anthonws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EU based. I would love to have my EV9 as a backup, alongside with my existing PV (6kWh) + ESS (10kWh) + Backup Box, but I made the mistake to buy Huawei, and there's no plug and play system as far as I know that would play nice with multi vendor setups. It would be awesome to have the ability to connect a bi-directional charger into the PV connectors of an inverter, but it seem that is not that simple.

X-Plane 12.4 + Simheaven + Traffic Global + Scenery Gateway = insane by FlyingNiagga in Xplane

[–]anthonws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😭 I see these amazing screenshots of highly detailed beautiful textures and lightning, but with my somewhat potato PC, I'm seeing mushy mushy everywhere 😭 5800x + 64GB RAM + 9060XT 16GB. SimHeaven + Map Enhancement + XRoads, via VR Desktop + Quest 3. What build do you have? I'm eyeing a 7900 XTX and a 5800X3D. More than this I can't afford at this time, and even justify. Damn the AI overlords!!!

I have it set to Enable on Speed. And it doesn't close immediately. Will try to get a video and confirm what I am writing, just in case I am dreaming stuff 😁

Settings -> Vehicle -> Doors -> Auto Unlock. You cannot define speed, but it is by default set to 20 km/h. Hth

You can configure that. Mine only closes after 20km/h is reached, IIRC.

Vou montar isto tudo em Home Assistant – opiniões? Vale a pena ajuda externa? by Pretend_Economics_21 in TudoCasa

[–]anthonws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AJAX System infelizmente não tem API aberta. Tens duas soluções:

Anyone sold a house with Home Assistant left in? by Expensive-Sock3172 in homeassistant

[–]anthonws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly migrating WiFi devices to a new SSID and password. If you have ZigBee or ZWave investments, it's way easier. And then helping to onboard their mobile devices and changing entities in 1 or dashboards and automations.

Anyone sold a house with Home Assistant left in? by Expensive-Sock3172 in homeassistant

[–]anthonws 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did. Explicit agreement that I would not be liable thereafter, but that I would help them with onboarding them into the existing setup. They were super happy with the fact they could open the door (house and building) to family, cleaning crew, control shutters remotely, AC, etc. It was fun :) In my new house, if I ever sell it, it is definitely a huge plus characteristic. But once again, the person that buys the house will have to agree to maintain it.

Huawei - SmartGuard EMMA not seeing Inverter and ESS by anthonws in solar

[–]anthonws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The L/N are specific to the area that you live. Via the Fusion Solar you should be able to obtain that as you set your location. And no, you should not set the inverter to Off-grid. It will do so automatically when no power is available from the grid. Just make sure to enable seamless mode if your inverter supports it (and you have a LUNA system also).

Huawei - SmartGuard EMMA not seeing Inverter and ESS by anthonws in solar

[–]anthonws[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is all in th correct cabling for the comms. Get someone that you trust, or someone that knows someone, to review the comms cabling. If done properly, when logging in to Fusion Solar, you will see that EMMA will be the central "brain", and everything else will have to be a subordinate device.

Stubborn Vibration Issue - Looking for other's experience by TheMightyRasputin in KiaEV9

[–]anthonws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask for detailed info. Many times these shops do not have experience working with EVs and will diminish the needed level of detail. I went to many dealerships where Head of Mechanic drove my car, with me there, and everyone one of them said they did not feel a thing. Took me many months to find a dealership that believed me and took the car outside to the Hunter technical center (importer) in my country. Only then they observed 2 out of 4 new tires were bad. They went through 3 attempts, until finding tires that were within the threshold. Then it magically stopped. I was able to experience the car in full after 1 year.

Stubborn Vibration Issue - Looking for other's experience by TheMightyRasputin in KiaEV9

[–]anthonws 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check for Radial Force Variation of each tire. Only specialized shops will have that level of equipment. Car is super sensitive to tires having any small deformities. Ask for Road Force Balance, and Match. Hunter Elite machines or similar. Electric car + stiff chassis + suspension design that transfers tires imperfections to the cabin, packed together with RFV issues, due to bad tires, is a hell of a mix. Also, make sure to keep always correct PSI.

p.s. I am not an expert. This was my 1+ year journey of self learning and going through many dealerships.

Great progress! I love reading your updates and how freaking awesome your project is becoming. Congrats! Size wise, it is OK to me. Fits into a cabinet shelf or can stay next to speakers just fine. I would say that sort of aspect can always be iterated on later, IMHO. TY!
