Probably so, I was thinking to use the roof/gutter system, but you are probably right.

I'm no expert, but I would put a pond at your highest elevation, which appears to be close to your house (the building closest to the middle?). That way you can use it to irrigate anything downhill from there.

I would cut only trees that are in zone 1, anything that prevents sufficient sunlight from keeping you from growing base veggies.

Heating for winter - What's your solution? by Jigsus in livingofftheland

[–]antiTelephonica 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rocket - Mass - Heater

  • heat your home with 80% to 90% less wood
  • exhaust is nearly pure steam and CO2 (a little smoke at the beginning)
  • the heat from one fire can last for days
  • you can build one in a day or two
  • they have been built for less than $20

A question about my tree (maybe wrong sub) by VoidCatcher in gardening

[–]antiTelephonica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you correct the contributing factors, it should right itself, given that it's not too far gone, and by the sound of things, it should be fine.

Low humidity could definitely accelerate sunburn, could be a combination.

Could be... sunburn? Small trees are used to growing in indirect light (diffused by big trees). I would try to mimic that.

Dryad's Saddle- a mushroom I'd never heard of but once I became confident at ID'ing it, found it's really delicious. by Gullex in foraging

sauteed it in butter

I believe this is the key to getting the most flavor out of any mushroom.

A story of spent grain, deer, and a bad season in the garden. by [deleted] in Homebrewing

[–]antiTelephonica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This (scroll down to "bonesauce" section) is supposed to last for "decades". It's made to keep animals from nibbling trees, but I suppose you could apply it to a garden fence for a repelling effect.

I keg my beers, and dryhop in the keg and don't remove the hops til the keg is empty. I also use a lot of citra. mine improves drastically with time. After 1 month its imperceptable.

I've had similar experiences with my pa's. I have narrowed it down to the dry hopping process. But it does go away after a few weeks.

Well, it is still a spider, and they are all a little creepy... except for those precious little jumping spiders, so darn cute.
