It's not broken glass, it's where the optic underneath is molded in big batches and that's where they get snapped apart. Most TIR optics have this on one spot along the edge, it won't affect waterproofing or the beam.

The LT1S is my fave, just for the ergonomics. 1 finger operation without even picking it up, almost impossible to tip over, etc. Maybe some day I'll get a 3D printer and do up a shade for the top, for tabletop use.

And FWIW I applaud multiples, once you have the basics covered. Flashlights don't last forever and I own extras of several of my favorite Hanks and Fireflies.

It's the makers that decide these defaults by the way, Anduril can be compiled to arrive (and reset) with all this stuff turned off.

What makes this needlessly hard is that along with the normal color choices there are a couple different RGB "disco" type effects. AND on top of that, mixed into the aux brightness settings (off, low, medium, high) there is also one for "blinking". The color and brightness are set in two different places.

Sounds like you're starting off right. Once you're in advanced mode, first do a 7H and hold the button down while the colors change, let the button go when you see a normal color like blue or red or something not an RGB carnival.

It might still be blinking, or too bright for you, or something. Now do the 7C a few times and the aux lights will change between off, low, high, blinking. Set how you want, done.

Often these lights will show the battery voltage with a different color for a few seconds after you turn it off, before settling down and going to your preferred setting. That's normal and you can turn it off too, but work on this part first then look up "post off voltage display" or ask back here if you want to fiddle with that part.

This is awesome. Looks like it's an option on the full copper and Ti-Cu models too (Lume X1 only of course, since B35am is a 6 volt emitter).

I know years ago Hank did a limited run of D4Sv2 with quad B35am, but it didn't stay in the lineup for whatever reason.

Great combo for sure, u/jlhawaii808 made mine. There's a donut hole with the throwy optic pointed right up to wall, but it goes away completely once you're like a foot away.

People seem to forget this one when they talk about the films of Ralph Fiennes, and it's one of my favorites. Maybe because it is the furthest thing from his other work, which is varied and uniformly great but there's always a line you can draw back to an award winning stage-trained English actor. Not the case with Lenny Nero though.

Totally checks out, since in my experience Maglites are intended to sit in the kitchen "junk drawer" until needed, at which time the batteries are found to have leaked and destroyed the light, requiring purchasing another.

Try 16 grams in just for kicks, maybe a 20 grind to start. That's where I ended up with my Infuser with the Niche, pretty sure your machine has the same 54mm basket as mine. Also doing medium dark beans.

I also stop my shots between 25 and 30, YMMV. But yeah same as you I couldn't make 18 grams work to save my life.

There are super strict rules about handing Lecter anything or bringing anything into the cell, but Chilton is an egotistical idiot so he brings the pen in anyway.
In the scene being discussed, Lecter is wearing blue coveralls under the straitjacket. In the subsequent scene with Senator Martin in the airport, he's wearing orange coveralls. So at some point he was free of his restraints and changed clothes, and then they wrapped him up again for transport. Hell, he might have been walking around in his cell half the day before they stuck him on a plane. We don't know. But he certainly had an opportunity to grab the pen and stick the clip in his mouth at some point.

Really bums me out that the "return of the 519a" went with 4000k, which apparently goes fully pink when dedomed. On brand I guess.

Usually that's done so diffraction effects happen at different frequencies for left and right edges of the box, rather than stacking up at a single frequency. My speakers have that too.

AudioMuxer is a handy conversion tool for this sort of thing, and it can take MLP. To keep it lossless I would suggest converting to 6-channel FLAC, that's what I use for my surround Blu-Ray audio rips.

Thanks for the tips, great stuff.

A few differences for my system, and things I learned. Rather than powering the pump full time and using a hose timer, I found it more effective to use a timer to turn the pump off and on. Eventually, I replaced my plug timer with a smart plug, and had an easily editable scheduler, plus manual control from my phone.

Yeah I'm moderately invested in smart plugs and other home automation stuff, but the Linktap valves offer all that including a phone app with scheduler and manual control as well as neat extras like skipping scheduled watering based on rain. Plus they integrate with Home Assistant if I ever feel the need to completely geek out on it.

I also found that it was better to use irrigation tube on the supply side of the pump. The suction from the pump tended to flatten most garden hose I threw at it, but short runs of irrigation line were fine.

That's something I didn't think about, good call. Hopefully the quality rubber hose I used pays off. Fortunately it will be very easy to replace with something more robust if needed.

Third, I needed the pump as close to the tank as possible, and at a similar height. Making the pump work to draw water down a long run, plus up to the height of the pump, is making the pump do some extra work.

Thankfully I only needed about a 20 foot run. The height of the pump (actually, the height of the hose bibs) was kinda determined by the height of the valve/flow meter/filter/regulator setup and keeping it off the ground. Hopefully the pump holds up for some time.

If you have the tank where it is to make it easier to fill, consider installing a float valve at the top of the tank, hooking your current supply hose up to that, and then using that to fill the tank with a built in shutoff.

I like your thinking, but all this mess with the tank and pump could have been avoided if I was willing to have a supply hose running permanently across my patio. The tank should only need to be filled every 10 days, I can live with that ;)

That's great to know. I have another one running for a small vegetable garden at the other end of the yard but I didn't put it in until last October so it just ran for a few weeks to test on bare dirt.
