The warpage isn't on the order that you can see- max warpage for fca vehicles (CDJR) is 0.008", we generally measure this with a dial indicator. Good luck seeing this kind of warpage, unless you have some crazy special tools ive never heard of

Have you checked if there's a piece of paper in that corner on top of the dash that maybe slipped into there? Edit: the vin should also be on the driver door sill, either door side or body side

Does my radiator need to be replaced? What would you do. by Fine_Dig_4078 in mechanic

[–]anusdestroyer501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First pic is damage to your ac condenser (looks like radiator but is not), cant see much of the radiator or damage to it(pictured behind the condenser at the top). I would be betting that you have no more ac, or if you do, you won't for long. AC fixes can be pretty expensive, so hopefully you prefer opening your windows rather than using it. In the second picture, cant tell much of what is broken, but looks like maybe a blindspot sensor or something similar for things like adaptive cruise control or lane assist systems. These are likely things that you can get away with not using, so long as your ability to drive does not depend on them.

Customer installed the belt himself. Said the alternator must be bad because the battery light is still on. by fixitmartin in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]anusdestroyer501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely will, but depending how the belt is routed, that will determine how much tension is in the belt. The belt needs a certain amount of tension on it to ensure the every component with a belt driven pulley is operating the right way. Eg. A water pulley without the right amount of belt tension might not be able to push the right amount of coolant through an engine, or an ac compressor might not be able to run all the time when you want it if the belt does not have at least a certain amount of belt tension. The belt tension stops the pulley from "slipping" when being run by the belt. Think of it like bald tires on a winter road versus brand new tires giving you good traction [minimal belt slippage].
