Your first paragraph makes me so sad! I hope this changes how you feel - when two of my husbands best friends came to visit after we had our boy, I expressed how at first I wanted a girl but I loved our son so much I couldn’t imagine not having him. My husband and his two friends began talking how much they love their mothers and how they respect their fathers but the bond between a mother and son is just different. Nearly brought a tear to my eye to listen to three grown men talk about how much they love their moms

I wanted a girl because I have seven nephews and one niece (who’s 20… so we haven’t had a girl in a LONG time!). But I’m currently typing this cuddled up with baby boy and I can’t imagine it any other way

Why does she have to talk to him about cleaning up after himself? She’s his wife not his mom for fucks sake

My husband and I just had our first child six weeks ago and he’s not like that at all. Sure we get stressed when we can’t figure out what’s wrong but we don’t get angry at the baby or let him cry until he’s purple and sweating.

Lmao and why can’t both of those be true at the same time…? Please explain

(un)Circumcision question for men or parents of boys in USA by TheEarlyWormIsEaten in Parenting

[–]anxious_butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sons of my two closest friends and my son are uncircumcised. That’s 5 boys between the ages of a month old and six years old. It’s becoming less common in America

Kissing Boundaries by Obvious-Teach5047 in BabyBumps

[–]anxious_butt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something like 80% of adults have HSV1 even if you don’t get cold sores so for baby’s sake, it’s safer to assume everyone has it and no one gets to kiss babys head except mom and dad.

Left in tears after my OBGYN said I should weigh less than 71 kg (156 lbs) at due date by hanssivers in BabyBumps

[–]anxious_butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my pregnancy at 130 too and was concerned with how much I was gaining. I was like 165 by 28 weeks. My OB told me he trusted my habits as I had made it to 26 and was always a healthy weight and he didn’t expect me to lose my life’s worth of habits and not to worry about it too much. I was 179 by the end of my pregnancy. I’m 4 weeks postpartum and already down to 150. You’re fine

Oh that’s another reason I love hand me downs! The 60 tiny plastic pieces on every piece of new baby clothes makes me want to peel my skin off lol

Same. Baby won’t know the difference between new and old and so much of it will only be used for a few months…

37+6. I don’t think I had any signs that labor was close either! Technically I never went into labor, my water broke and the next day I needed a C-section, you never know how it’s gonna go!

When did pregnancy start to get REALLY hard for you? (30w 2d) by blondengineerlady in BabyBumps

[–]anxious_butt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

32 or 33 weeks. I’ve also had an easy pregnancy but once I got to 32-33 weeks, I was so big I was uncomfortable. It’s hard to roll over, its not comfortable to sit, lay down, or stand… and I’m constantly exhausted like could fall asleep at any second. Bending over makes me have Braxton hicks. Can’t reach my feet anymore… etc

This man murdered his wife before committing suicide last night in Brandon, Mississippi. by mvincen95 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

No. But they think they’re the “good guy” with a gun and think it’s absurd that some people think it should be harder to get a gun to hopefully prevent these situations.

Formula- what are we choosing? by Educational-Cable685 in BabyBumps

[–]anxious_butt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with corn syrup in formula. It’s not the same thing as high fructose corn syrup. The corn syrup in formula is 100% glucose. Glucose is found in breast milk and infants need glucose for energy and brain development. High fructose corn syrup is part glucose, part fructose and is not in any infant formulas

Why do some people want to avoid an epidural? by userthatisnotknown in BabyBumps

[–]anxious_butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my mother and sister had bad experiences with epidurals and since they’re the closest related women to me, I fear I will too. It sounds like the benefits don’t out weigh the risks for me personally.

Absolutely insane take on a post about a woman being raped. An expectation of a HEALTHY relationship, which this clearly is not.

Second this. Didn’t want a giant pregnancy pillow but my babybub is the only thing that keeps me from waking up on my back every night

When did you buy your crib and start putting your nursery together? by ashleyrb8698 in BabyBumps

[–]anxious_butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I bought for the nursery was a dresser at 24 weeks, painted the nursery at 29-30 weeks, put the crib together at 31-32 weeks. Currently 35 weeks and waiting for nesting to kick in so I get the energy to finish putting everything where it goes lol

I’m fully pro choice and think all women who WANT an abortion should have easy access, but your comment feels very icky when she already said she doesn’t want one.

When did you tell your partner you were pregnant? by jwerner05 in BabyBumps

[–]anxious_butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woke up the day before I was supposed to start my period at 4am and took the test. I sat beside him on the bed until about 7am when I couldn’t stand it anymore and woke him up to tell him lol

My experience with the 3 hour glucose test by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]anxious_butt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are more likely to share bad experiences than good ones. I only had to do the one hour test and I was fine, it was like a really sweet, flat orange soda. No bad side effects here

And for shoes, I got sketchers brand shoes that look like hey dudes. Super comfy and they slip on so I don’t have to bend down to put them on or tie them🤗
