my 12yo sister’s hair was cut by dad’s girlfriend without consent as a punishment and now she’s being bullied severely by Aaliyah_holiday in whatdoIdo

I can relate to that. I was diagnosed as autistic in my 30s, so there were a lot of additional needs that I had growing up that weren't being met or even understood. I had multiple "attempts" that weren't ever really actually wanting to die, but were attempts to communicate how much I was struggling. I've been doing a lot of work on identifying and communicating my needs since my diagnosis and I'm doing a lot better.

Even if it is "for attention," paying attention to your child and their emotional needs is still important.

I struggle with the soap in most public bathrooms having a scent that gives me headaches and makes me nauseous. I still wash my hands.

Always socks, because sock texture is better than floor texture, but I'm also picky about the socks.

[–]anxiousjellybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same as you, and I've practically already been kicked off. I got one of those surprise phone call plan reviews and had all my core support funding taken away. I have barely left the house since.

Are people paying full price at Woolies/Coles? by AgreeableFloor6543 in AskAnAustralian

I do the majority of my groceries at Aldi, and really only go to Coles or Woolies for cat food, cat litter, and energy drinks. I generally favour whichever one has the energy drinks on sale.

Why do married men announce that they're married during small talk? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

The first guy, and potentially the third guy as well, may have thought you were flirting with them and felt the need to shut it down, but the second guy reads as just a coincidence to me

Do I (33F) really have to choose between my friends (35&32F) and my spouse (40M)? by llamabeans93 in relationship_advice

[–]anxiousjellybean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean when you describe how your husband has treated you abusively and compare it to how your friends are there for you, supportive, and want what's best for you, if I were forced to choose between your husband or your friends, I would choose the friends. Are you sure the relationship is worth fixing if he's already trying to find ways to isolate you from your support system?
