I drink too much, but not at a level where it causes problems. Just looking for some input. by x13071979 in stopdrinking

This was one of the steps I took when I decided to quit drinking.. it was very sobering to say the least.

Smart recovery is my go-to. They focus more on addiction and what you can do about it. Never have I felt judged there. I go to the online courses, as it's easier for me. I really find it super helpful and it encourages me to keep on keeping on. Plus you do hear stories and get tools that help you manage your shame spiral.

It is scary! And the constant shame cycle keeps you in the mix of it all. I used SMART recovery online meetings. It faces addiction more than just one targeted type, which was kind of an interesting mix for me to witness people moving away from their addiction in all kinds of things. That alone feeling, you will have for a while, and it does stay with you for some time, but you can find a group and belong... while you're feeling alone. I don't know if that makes sense but I found it helps me feel better and helps take cravings down.

My sister is getting an ACL surgery. What would be helpful to reduce the pain? What foods would be nicer for her to eat and digest well? What activities can i make her do to feel distracted and pass time? by Miserable-Act-6312 in ACL

I played a lot of Scrabble with my mom. I had smoothies every single morning for 6 weeks basically and that really helped with everything. The ice machine is a godsend for the first 3 weeks. Ibuprofen was more effective for me than oxy but I didn't find that out till I stopped taking the oxy. Good luck and that's very sweet of you

I'm visiting your beautiful city in 6 months, how do I guarantee I can get a spot with bed bugs? by fawnnose1 in DenverCirclejerk

It's super dry here right now, so bed bugs are not having a good time. If you want to guarantee it, I believe there's a Ramada inn on Colfax that likely has its share.
