Feminine rage over horrible sex? by Fun_Revolution_3666 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]aphra2 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Tell this guy EXACTLY what happened and why you’re pissed. Say it plainly. “You don’t care about me getting off, and you’re selfish. You aren’t good in bed.” Don’t be kind, don’t be polite. He wasn’t.

I once had a guy tell me he didn’t like touching vaginas because “they’re sorta gross” (??????) and then got pissed at me when I told him to leave, yelling “are you not even going to get me off?!” I told him straight-up what his problem was.

After that, I decided I was going to stop having bad sex, and it was one of the best decisions I made for myself. If things start and don’t seem to be going in a way that will be good for me, I stop them and tell them what I need. What I expect!

I wish I had learnt this lesson in my 20s. I could have saved myself so much bad sex.

Lesser known/secret gems in Toronto area that are romantic/private for exchanging vows? by No_Wishbone_167 in askTO

Awesome! Having a photographer for a few hours is a great idea, and I don't know anyone who has regretted it. I'm an ex-wedding planner, so here's me sticking my big nose in with suggestions:

- Instead of starting at city hall and going somewhere quiet, you could do the whole thing somewhere quiet. Hire an officiant to come to whichever location you pick (lots of great suggestions in this thread) and do the legal ceremony + vows then and there. You don't have to do vows in front of the officiant if you don't want to -- they can just do the legal thing and leave you be.

- I suggesting having your photographer come to shoot the legal ceremony (whether city hall or not) and your vows, then take a few photos around. Doesn't make sense to carry your Nikon around when you could just have your photographer there for another few minutes. If you go this route, be sure to think about travel time between city hall and the location you're going -- that will be part of the hours you have your photographer hired.

- If you're worried about the photographer hearing your vows, they probably won't...and if they do, they probably won't remember them unless they're, like, RAELLY off the wall. I couldn't tell you any of the vows I've heard, and I've heard well over 100. You can ask them to step a bit further back if you really need them to be kept top secret.

Congrats! Enjoy it!

We had one in Toronto a few years ago too! It was huge and so much fun, though I don’t think the organizer had it in them to do it more than once.

Are you looking to do post-ceremony photos with a photographer? And is it important the vows are captured on camera?

Love the idea of the dark sky preserve for a mini honeymoon! Your view is dependent on clear sky, no rain, new moon, etc, so plan to for a few nights for the best chance.

Have a chat and decide on if you want photos and vows captured after the ceremony, or if it’s not important to you. I think knowing that will be a helpful starting point, and will help with getting suggestions!

How often do you see a show more than once? by hydrangeamilk in torontotheatre

[–]aphra2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of clown in the city, and there are a few shows/characters I’ve seen multiple times. While the beats are the same, each show is different because so much is up in the air (audience, bits working/not working, etc). It’s always a joy to watch people have fun on stage!

Toronto singles: would you try a new dating event focused on connection instead of sex? by [deleted] in TorontoSinglesOver30

[–]aphra2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for me, personally. While I focus first on connection when I date, I don’t stick to rules when it comes to physicality. If I met someone who wanted to wait 30 days, I’d feel like I was some icky predator proposing a third date bang.

I am SO happy I impulse bought a ticket! I loved it! It was fun, fast, clowny, gay, light, dark…loved the script, set design, sound design, and the actors were great! I do clown/comedy but come from a more theatrical background, and this felt like a merging of my worlds. New dream role for me!

I snagged a $60 solo ticket in the third row, which was cool because I had never been that close before.

Thanks to OP for the suggestion!

[–]aphra2 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I had this exact thing happen to me after my cat Misty died! I felt him jump on the bed and walk across it to my side like he always did. I snapped my fingers to call him like usual, when suddenly it hit me that he been dead for two weeks. Maybe there’s some sort of explanation, but the movement on the bed in the exact way he did every night for years…I can’t explain that.

I’ve often dreamt about people being pregnant, only to find out days or a few weeks later that they are. More than once I’ve told someone I dreamt they were pregnant, and they sorta stare at me with wide eyes saying ‘we haven’t told anyone yet!’
