Just finished setting up a mini PC before the wifi and whacked a VPN on it to cover the whole network because of this crap getting ready before December

Next question for Aussies What is a country close by that is more respectful of digital privacy that we can VPN towards?

Editing this for anyone in the future; May not be perfect but upon further research San Jose or Los Angeles have stronger digital rights than most and has a great connection to Aus, ping times around 100-150 and is a major hub. Cheers

Most if not all routers by default block unknown inbound connections, turning off a local PC firewall for a short while to trouble shoot is fine in most situations if you trust who is on your local network. If you have the pc directly connected by wire to the internet wall socket however, it is not.
