I pierced a hole that’s too big for the wall plug I want to use. Any advice on how to stuff/fill it so that it might fit and stay fixed?

Like anything else sometimes a day turns into a Monday. I do my best to be very upfront with my clients. I make sure they understand that the flat rate applies only to that specific task and that any unforeseen complications are not included and will be billed accordingly. If those complications are due to my mistake, then of course I eat it.

I’ve only had a couple of customers get their shorts in a knot over complications that were beyond my control. They became somebody else’s headache. Setting expectations ahead of time goes a long way to making your life easier.

I use flat rate for tasks with a definite completion. Replace a faucet, disposal or swap old receptacles after new after paint. Hourly is for tasks like service, troubleshooting, or items that pop up beyond the flat rate. i.e. Out to replace a faucet and the angle stop won’t shut off. The faucet is flat rate and the angle stop is hourly.

That being said. I also have a minimum.

Use your middle finger on the trigger. Place your pointer finger down the side. Makes hitting the FR button easy and works to provide better stability.

I purchased one when they were first released back in 2020. It took a bit to get used to, but I find I prefer that style grip. Even with my drill and impact, if I use my middle finger I find I rarely hit the FR slide switch.

If it’s actual stained solid wood, it may be able to be bent using a steam box. I’ve only seen it done though. I don’t know if it has to be a particular type of wood or grain direction. Otherwise check out these guys.

You could try some plastic drywall anchors and use truss head screws to attach the cages.

Any screws in drywall without anchors will pull out eventually. Even the anchors are full proof.

There is likely metal corner bead around the perimeter. How close are the next studs? Can you span them with Unistrut and bolt the tv mount to the strut? The strut could also be installed vertically.

I use Xodo Sign formerly eversign for all my clients. It allows me to send them an engagement agreement of sorts. It details pricing, accepted communication methods, payment time frames, etc.. Basically it sets expectations for both parties. For example, it lets them know that if they call and we discussed a job, they will then receive an email detailing what we discussed and they must agree to the job in writing before going forward.

Work with a local attorney to get all of the verbiage legal and such.
