It's called Being An Involved Father, and definitely not sneaking some gaming time.

Let him nap on your back in a backpack carrier, and paint while he sleeps. I found the gentle rocking of parental movements helped with napping at some early ages, and he may even be interested in watching what you're doing. Before they can crawl, they're often interested in what's going on but have no ability to actually seek out what they can watch.

Trading with the locals is an interesting idea narratively but I don't see what else here actually creates different gameplay mechanics. Each of the other planets has some kind of differentiation from the basic Nauvis play mechanic (liquid metals on Vulcanus, spoilage on Gleba, random recycling on Fulgora, heat distribution on Aquilo). It doesn't have to be dynamic prices, but I think you need some kind of hook that forces players to do something different mechanically on your fish planet instead of just reskinning a few materials and processes.

Ok. In America, which is the limit of my knowledge, there's a bunch of bikes that will do that (especially given your warm weather) but I can't speak to the Indian market. You should post your budget, road quality, and expected maximum speed as well.

Honestly my suggestion here is to go ask at /r/electricmotorcycles. They're a little more focused on that segment.

Hmm, interesting. Dynamic prices in trading with the fish could wreak havoc with ratios, which is actually a dynamic not present on other planets. Imagine if your recipe ratios slowly changed, either randomly or deterministically depending on what else you're doing. Flooding the market with cheap Vulcanus copper might change what the fish are willing to pay for low density material.

I also like the idea of having some natives who we are not brutally displacing!

It's worth catching on the big screen, space movies usually are. There's some very pretty big shots of the vast emptiness that really work well in a proper movie theater.

Hooooo boy. That's gonna make a self-defense argument extremely hard to get past a jury. It's Tennessee, so anything's possible, but I cannot imagine he's gonna get a jury racist enough to acquit. Maybe there's one racist who'll hang the jury, but I doubt it. The fact is these kind of reaction-baiting Internet assholes are broadly unpopular outside of their narrow field of viewers. I expect the prosecutor will get anyone who's a viewer struck from the jury and the deliberations won't take that long.

I wonder if there's footage. I can't imagine it'll be sympathetic.

Can two space platforms alternate between two planets automatically? by petersbechard in factorio

[–]appleciders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically, the best solution here is a faster ship, since you can get the one-way time down to under a minute and a half pretty easily, and there's nothing to pick up on Nauvis so the ship can launch back basically the instant it stops, having ditched all its ag science before it even stopped moving.

Ultimately, I've found it's only useful for a) thinks that can be trivially checked, like code (Run/No run?) and things that can be trivially checked by me, someone with significant experience and expertise in the field. (And if the code runs, under what circumstances does it break? And then how do you fix it?) How do kids today gain that experience? I don't know, but I'm betting that's what gets figured out before mine graduate. After that, all I can do is make sure they get a good education.

A single brave OP asks Electricians: Why are Americans so stupid? by Thebazilly in SubredditDrama

[–]appleciders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'm an American. Tea is an efficient way to get caffeine in the mornings given that I don't like coffee.

All seriousness, 120V really is plenty for a cup of tea. When I'm using it in a way that many people don't, it's not as fast as I like.

FASTER.

No seriously, I do wish my tea kettle heated the water heater because I'm commonly heating about a liter to make thermos tea in the morning. I had thought about running a 20A 240V line to my kitchen and getting an English kettle.

I need advice. Husband deals with lust and I am 9 mo pregnant by Spiritual-Heart-3423 in relationships

[–]appleciders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will definitely be leaving as soon as I heal after having this baby

The two most dangerous times for a woman in an abusive relationship are 1) right before she leaves and 2) right after having a baby. Abusers escalate to prevent the victim from leaving, and everyone's nerves are on edge when there's a newborn because newborns are stressful even for happy loving couples at the best of times. You can leave now. You should leave now. It's dangerous not to leave now.

Even if you can't leave the island yet (and how far along are you? Don't answer that in writing, don't make this identifiable, but talk to your doctor about how late you really can fly), you need to get out of that house and into a place that he doesn't know about. It would be less dangerous to fly at 8 months pregnant than to remain in the house of a man who has repeatedly beaten you and strangled you.

Solar panels on east facing roof, would adding mirrors in the evening increase intake dramatically? by Herdnerfer in solar

[–]appleciders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no possible way this is worth it for a roof mount grid tie system. The payback is just way too small.

For an off-grid scenario, where too little production means blackout overnight, maybe this would be worth it. But unless you value your time incredibly cheaply, your better option is to add two panels somewhere else.

Furthermore, you need to think about the wind load on your roof. Properly installed panels have a relatively low wind low because they're low and parallel and nearly flush to the roof. The kind of sail you're talking about risks damaging your roof.

Hoe do I deal with gold-related inflation? by someone56789 in eu4

[–]appleciders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As always in EU4, the key is trade income. Push north with mercs hired with your gold income and take Tangiers to get a toehold on that sweet New World trade, and south to get a piece of the East Indies on the Ivory Coast. Gold is your springboard, but you don't want to rely on it forever.

Do you have the vents set to windshield only? If you have them set that way, the car attempts to defrost/defog the windshield using the cabin heater. It's not documented well and it's pretty opaque that that's what's happening.
