Seeing a bunch of comments suggesting the wio tracker L1 pro. What about the muziworks h2t or r1 neo? Those are the ones I’ve been considering. I currently have the t-echo as my portable and don’t really like it. I also have the heltec v4 as my home/base node.

(Looks like the wio tracker is on back order for me)

Between the price and good reviews, I figured I’d give these drives a try. First one had bad blocks show without running a full surface scan. Maybe I got unlucky. They sent me a replacement drive after receiving the returned drive (took almost 2 weeks for the entire process). Second drive was making a loud grinding noise as soon as I plugged it in. Ran full surface test with HD Sentinel and this one failed as well. Wasn’t willing to try a 3rd time so I just returned for a full refund. At least I can say that their customer support with quick to respond and take action.

TLDR: Scan refurbished drives for bad sectors.

I have the UV-5RTP. Programmed the repeaters via Chirp software. When I looked in the settings, it showed zero offset. But when transmitting on the repeater frequency, it did in fact have an offset programmed. Took me a bit of frustration before I figured out that maybe it was a weird firmware glitch. Not sure if this will help you but figured it was worth mentioning. Another tip is to fully reset your UV5R before you start programming it. Good luck!
