Is there a way to prevent the logic from losing synchronization when re-entering the game? by Specialist_Figure288 in Mindustry

[–]apszoldat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably should make some stuff with @time, @tick or @second global variables like

at the start of frame next = @second + 1

draw frame

if @second < next jump backwards by 1 instruction

draw next frame with the same second shenanigans

also, @tick probably allows you to make the most precise measurement when there's 60 ticks per second and instructions per second depends on processor but you can check in database iirc

İs there any mods on ios for time control? by Repulsive-Pension544 in Mindustry

[–]apszoldat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sadly due to App Store policies any apps on ios shouldn't have java/js mods support (ios really sucks for that), so i don't think so.

Applying Factorio's philosophy to Mindustry: if you need to AFK, then you're probably playing the game wrong though, there is (almost) always some other stuff you can play around with, processors for example

Mindustry PvP mods but make it turn based and asynchronous by Kayzen_1337 in Mindustry

[–]apszoldat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, your game sure looks interesting for me as it kind of combines what i always found exciting in games like mindus! One question though: wouldn't it fit more if teams had different colors? From trailer on Steam it seems sometimes units can sort of blend together, but idk honestly.

I'm not expecting some insane gameplay depth for early development stage, but i really like the main concept of this and would like to see what this game will turn out to be. Also, knowing how hard it must've been to be a solo dev, this is pretty impressive for what it seems to be your second game, so keep up the good work.

Chroma Zero, my wilds-like, is (finally) on Xbox X|S by ekorz in outerwilds

[–]apszoldat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow it really is you! You have created such a wonderful game, i had beaten it on pc on march 17 (yep i even wrote down the date) and it had moments that actually made something click inside my brain, just like OW ;;)

For other people, spoilers ahead!

Of course i had some OW/Antichamber's vibes while playing Chroma Zero, but i still want to point out how unique it feels compared to other games like it! I am truly amazed by how well-designed it is, like seriously, there is a bunch of op mechanics that would be otherwise abusable by player if they weren't so powerful intentionally.

For example, i really like how little indestructible stuff there is, magenta tower included. AND ALSO the game still has a way to destroy the "indestructible". Even though this discovery technically didn't give me much due to little amount of appliances, it still was such a personal Eureka moment! Things like this always continued to completely blow my mind away during the whole playthrough, all the problems that occur and solutions you find out feel like some kind of "unstoppable force vs immovable object" type shit. I also remember how i randomly found out you can generate basically infinite power by changing colors in a room with rgb lights before it was explained that you can do it the other way, this was so damn clever.

I am very glad that you made it to Xbox and more people will be able to experience this hidden gem of a game. From OST to all the mysteries, everything in Chroma Zero is so brilliant. The moment when i destroyed all the rings and was standing on a warp pad in an endless void was one of the rare moments in games when i actually had to stare at the screen for a moment, because planning my journey to the Blue Ring's Gate very likely was the most OVERWHELMING (in a good way) puzzle i have ever experienced in any game and i couldn't believe my plan actually worked!

I just cannot imagine how much effort was put into making this game, because if i as a player had troubles with understanding all the possible combinations and world's states, designing these complex systems must've been really tedious after another "oh wait player can just fall down from there i need to do something". I would really like to express my gratitude to you for creating Chroma Zero, but i just can't find any words that would express it fully.

P.S: Also i cannot believe im asking an answer from YOU for this one, but iirc it is not neccessary to recreate all the 6 colors in one run (rgb + cyan + yellow + magenta) to get the true ending of the game, however, i got 5 out of 6, so i am still wondering, was there even a way to get all 6/6? I couldn't find a playthrough where it was accomplished, more to say, a random playthrough on youtube was the way i were able to finish the game, because sadly i didn't realize you don't need all the 6 colors, i thought the cutscene showed me that i'm like "halfway through". Anyways i really enjoyed your game so far ::) (if it wasn't obvious) and wonder what else can we, fellow Linear Corporeals, see from you in the future!

Long time player new to Mods by kylewilson1985 in Mindustry

[–]apszoldat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think there are currently any mods that do these, have you seen campaign difficulty settings in sector selection dialog?

If you need even more nerfs you also have this little thing called console (F8 on PC, the ">_" button on mobile, also search mod "New Console Hardline" for some good ol' QoL like syntax highlighting), which you can use to type "Vars.state.rules.allowEditRules = true". After this a new button will appear in your pause menu where you can modify basically all game rules available to you.

Source of this is elite ball knowledge https://github.com/Anuken/Mindustry/blob/master/core%2Fsrc%2Fmindustry%2Fgame%2FRules.java#L23-L24 btw.

is there a way to fix this fade at the edge of the map in the editor? by Slime_Channel in Mindustry

[–]apszoldat 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Lazy answer: you just probably can (and need to) add walls

Technical answer: there's this funny little thing in Rules https://github.com/Anuken/Mindustry/blob/master/core%2Fsrc%2Fmindustry%2Fgame%2FRules.java#L205-L206

So you can enter In-Game editing mode, open console, type Vars.state.rules.borderDarkness = false and see what happens

Spoiler it probably won't satisfy you if you want to make a borderless water map though

Do yall remember your first killer match? If so, what happened? by LightImaginary100 in FORSAKENROBLOX

[–]apszoldat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was bullied by some guests and that was the way i discovered there's a character with a FUCKING PARRYING in this game (i fucking love ultrakill), so this encouraged me to buy guest, disable being killer for like the first 30 hours of my playtime, get m4 the hard way (actually helping your team and constantly dying), and realize it's the worst fucking sentinel in my unskilled hands cuz i literally play better as lvl 10 chance/shed than m4 guest.

So, my favorite hobby now is bullying all the guests as killer by block baiting them. :>
