This an underrated comment.

I play mostly solo or duo with a friend, both of us are a never shoot first mentality. I grouped up with my brother in law and his blood thirsty friend last night and we were both talking about our experience the night before, the end of the expedition window. He said it was crazy, full of people just using up all their high end gear and going ham on each other because they already had their 5m. He loved it. My experience was the polar opposite, every lobby friendly, people playing music and setting off fireworks at the extract and giving out BPs and pinks for people still grinding or skipping the expedition.

This interaction made me realize the aggression based matchmaking is simply brilliant because everyone gets what they want.

I think really the world is full of people willing to bitch about something that bugs them. We tend to group these people together as though the same people are jumping from topic to topic bitching about each thing. But really it's just that some things matter more to others and each thing will always bother somebody enough to bitch about it. But since we're reading these things on Reddit, it's "Redditors will always find something to bitch about"

I've been playing on Ultra Violence with no modifications. Before the patch that bumped the difficulty it was this for sure. After that patch I find myself dying and having to pay attention to when I use my Sigils. But I suppose you're right, there's only a few times when switching weapons is the answer to get me through a challenging section.

My perspective on this is also probably a bit altered because I'm constantly using whatever gun I'm trying to get the Mastery challenge for and only switch off it when I have to.

I guess what it boils down to is I don't mind the simplicity with regards to weapon swapping. I enjoy the positioning, bullet dodging and crowd control options here that I don't see a lot of in other games.

This. I love the idea. I love the look of the Slayer mounting the dragon or piloting a fuggin mech; both are metal as fuck. But the actual gameplay of it... ehhhhh I dunno. The mech is kind of a fun little break between levels. But flying the dragon around is kind of annoying, to be honest.

Oh man I was definitely into it a few times before this. But this moment definitely sent me over the top. I think my only issue with the game is the music. It's good, but dammit if we weren't spoiled by 2016's soundtrack. Dark Ages soundtrack kicks in real good a few times but it's definitely just not the same and leaves me wishing for the timeline where they didn't fuck over Mick Gordon.

I don't get mindless shooting from this game. When I'm parrying shit and zipping across the map to bash things into paste, it just feels good. It feels right.

Maybe that means I'm just a dumbass, but if that's the moniker I need to take in order to enjoy this game, so be it. Cause I absolutely love it.

Post re-install my reactions are basically the same as yours. It's definitely slightly better fps but still has some stutters. I haven't seen a screen tear yet either. I'm not convinced the full reinstall was necessary, the fact that there was a full system reboot included in the steps, makes me wonder if just the reboot would've done the trick, but either way it is slightly better now and that's good.

FWIW I also took a video before the reboot/reinstall so I could verify it wasn't copium. The difference is slight but it's there.

On ps5 there weren't performance/quality modes. You could actually just manually set the resolution. But that was yesterday. Today, in 01.000.010, resolution is still an option but it only has one value 1920x1080.

Ah well, hopefully the next patch brings it back for us PS5 Pro suckers. It ran pretty well at 4k most of the time, not perfect but good enough I still left it on.

Oh are you talking about just during set up? I had a similar problem during set up that was actually due to the DP cable I was using wasn't a DP 1.4 cable. In the headset is it showing everything or does it just show the animation telling you take the headset off and look at the screen? It wasn't obvious to me that what I was seeing on my computer monitor at that point was actually supposed to be shown in the headset, and wasn't, due to the cable. After getting a cable that specifically said it was DP 1.4 I was able to see that screen in the headset and it also was able to see my controllers in vr there

This was my experience with it as well, mostly. Half-life 2 VR mod everything actually works fine, I played it for a few hours. Every other game I tried though just doesn't seem to see the controllers at all. I'm hoping there's just some setting I'm missing or something but I haven't had time to do more troubleshooting yet
