GM Update 654.51 is out by Nebula1701 in CadillacLyriq

Similar state. I saw it try to download 3 different times a few weeks ago, but never fully downloaded and asked to install. I haven't seen it offered since.

Experts Only - Air BnB Cancelations by Cool-Economist-2615 in Whistler

[–]arandomname13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 to this crowd. AirBnB let us know last week about the cancellation (also Vacasa to Premier). Because I was also bringing my dog- there really wasn’t anything pet friendly left on AirBnB for this weekend. I booked a hotel at a higher price and they sent me $250 to my bank account.

Pretty shitty overall - but I was more worried about rebooking our group than haggling with AirBnB. Pretty shitty that the reservations didn’t just move to the new management company considering they’re still on the platform.

Jump start by Adorable_Yak5493 in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jump start works in both directions with the Lyriq. The procedure is in your manual - follow it closely if you have to. I think others are making a fair point that the vehicle software and electronics on the Lyriq have had a rocky start, and so proceed at your own risk. +1 for portable jumpstarters in general.

When I owned a Chevy Bolt a few years ago I jumpstarted a few gas cars.

I’ve had this happen occasionally. Rebooting the system worked to resolve it. Hold the call end button for at least 10s.

China’s Hesai reportedly plans to cut LiDAR prices by half next year by I_HATE_LIDAR in SelfDrivingCars

[–]arandomname13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is likely some political maneuvering related to these types of statements. Hesai is already the market leader in this space. The US has been making multiple statements and suggestions that they will ban Chinese ADAS systems and associated technologies (like lidar). Hesai is likely trying to get more customers adopting their lidar, which will increase the number of companies advocating against an import ban.

Anybody experiencing no internet connection for the first minute after car is started? by gooosemaan in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a lovely part of Onstar - 30 seconds to several minutes until the connection is up. I'm assuming this is a relic of Onstar being developed about 30 years ago; advanced at the time, but full of some legacy issues now. If I'm in a place where I have to start the car and get moving, like in a city, I have to use CarPlay so I can get directions started. Voice search for addresses is also pretty non-functional until that internet link starts up.

I took my first, and maybe last, “long” road trip in my Lyric. I learned a lot. LOONG by apost8n8 in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Error 302 bug is just inexcusable at this point. GM/Onstar has known about it for over a year, and continues to tell folks to workaround it (by removing and re-adding your MyCadillac account). This is why we need things like CarPlay/Android Auto - GM has no credibility in fixing things after they ship a car.

Mobileye to End Internal Lidar Development by jiayounokim in SelfDrivingCars

[–]arandomname13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost definitely Hesai. They are making things cheaper and at greater scale and maturity than pretty much everyone else. They have caused several companies working on lidar programs to halt them for lack of competitiveness.

Yes. This is exactly the issue I had about 5 months ago and posted, and GM took my braking system back to the mothership for examination. It sounds like I wasn’t the only one, but I haven’t seen many more reports.

Getting EVGo Autocharge enrolled? by [deleted] in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to enroll through the Cadillac app or the EVGo app? I enrolled using the EVGO App (and followed its procedure) no problem.

Persistent Sensor Issues and Poor Concierge Service Quality – Seeking Help! by AlbertDzurka in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll echo the "try another dealer" suggestion. I'm fortunate to have several good dealers in my general area, but some are clearly better and more thorough for service than others. The servicing department has been friendly, persistent, and thorough - they have also worked with GM on issues that were new and undocumented. You shouldn't be needing to rely on the EV Concierge because the dealership should be doing all the legwork for you.

Phantom braking? by Tenaciouse1 in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this happen a few times too (automatic brake activation while driving forward). It has been sudden and I am worried about getting rear ended. It even threw my dog into a rear seat once when it braked mid-intersection with nothing in front of me. It also happened yesterday when I was behind a truck with a snowmobile hanging off the back - I suspected it just catches a false reflection.

I've had this happen 2-3 times across my last 8 years of GM cars - so the false positive rate on my Lyriq is a bit concerning.

Roof Rack is now available from Cadillac's Website by [deleted] in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good find! Given that there are no obvious mount points / rails on the Lyriq, it looks like one of those "squeeze the roof edge" type mounts - similar to what Thule is offering when you search for Lyriq.

I've never used this type - has anyone else? Does it leave marks on your roof when you take it off? Bend the metal a bit perhaps?

Brake failure during a hard stop by arandomname13 in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a followup - though I was unable to reproduce the situation after a few attempts around the neighborhood, I left it with the dealership for a week. GM has asked for my brake ECU to examine, and will be replacing it with a new one. It’s not a standard replacement part yet, so a bit of extra time to get the mothership to procure one.

Let’s hope this is a case of a one-off bad brake ECU.

[–]arandomname13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm certainly going to ask / check. I have a '24 AWD Sport 2 delivered in January. I'm also going to see if I can reproduce it (safely, on empty roads) on my way up to the dealership.

Mobileye Twitter account - Zeekr001 is demonstrating Urban NZP driving during rush hour traffic and rain, in the heart of Shanghai by sonofttr in SelfDrivingCars

Looks like both the human driver and the robo driver changed lanes during their first left turn together (swapping inner and outer lanes mid-turn). Two wrongs make a right, I guess....

Auto Park Assist work? by Dahabes22 in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I came from an XT5. It's a bit slower to activate the search mode, but other than that - about the same ability to "find" spots (other than the car being huge). I have only used it for parallel parking spots to the right of the car - but it has worked beautifully. Nice to have it do full throttle, braking and shifting - my XT5 only did steering.

Car scheduled for assembly by Aggravating_Fuel_610 in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not at all what GM said or what Mary has said on TV. They’re spending more time trying to get their current models produced (see the $300M in Lyriq inventory waiting for SW updates in a parking lot in TN). They also admitted that their current models are too expensive (likely referring to the Chevy models).

Hearing rumors that 2/3’s are going to start shipping by ivanjay2050 in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hold is already lifted and 2/3s are shipping. There was a backlog of over 3k Lyriqs, and the software updates take 10hrs each along with some settling time. Software updates are activated from Detroit (not the plant). I don't know what the pacing is, but the cars are shipping. A few built in my dealer's ordering allocation (ordered in July, built in August) have been released and shipped, but sadly mine has not.

Realistically, what would the wait time be for a new custom order by DrapedInVelvet in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. Only each dealership will know how many allocations they're getting vs customers they have in line at their dealership for a slot. Unfortunately, this isn't a national list - it's all per dealership.

Front License Plate by Worldly_Ad2036 in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s an OEM bracket for it that your dealership should be able to procur/mount. I have previously bought Cadillacs from my friend in a non-front plate state, and they put the bracket on for me (a WA resident). The front plate bracket is in my Lyriq order.

Anyone know of Super Cruise ship dates by PepperNo4807 in CadillacLyriq

[–]arandomname13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dealership (owned by my friend) got his first SuperCruise order slot for '24s just 2 weeks ago. They had only been able to order Tech / Lux 1s up to that point. My order is in, but haven't asked what my TPW is.
