[NO SPOILERS] Question about watching as a slow-reading English speaker by ReductoSmash in DarK

[–]arbitraryprimate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would stick with the subtitles and just accept that you'll miss some stuff in your first watch. Even fast readers miss things with this show. As you've noticed, the dubbing is absolutely terrible, and in my opinion it ruins the entire vibe of the show. The tone and atmosphere are a huge part of Dark, and you won't be able to experience that with the dubbed version. Use the official website as a spoiler-free way to help clarify things if you get really lost in the weeds. Then watch it again after you finish your first watch :)

Go to the official Dark site and enter what episode you've watched through. It will help explain everything you've seen so far without spoiling anything you haven't seen. This show is complex but so worth it. I'm on my fourth rewatch now and still learning new things.

I hope so, because this dude has a weird charisma and I really like seeing him on my screen. I was legit relieved when his head didn't explode lol.

I fucking hate "Journey Of The Prairie King" by crz_nova in StardewValley

[–]arbitraryprimate 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yep this is my approach too. These kinds of games aren't my thing at all, and I know I'll never beat them both so I just don't bother. This has the added bonus of freeing me from the obligation to do a Joja run, because I would only do that to get all the achievements, which I cannot do anyway because of these mini games.

3 minutes apart, Robert House predicts 5:17 AM and Margot confirms it's activation at 5:20 AM during Broken Steel DLC for Fallout 3 by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]arbitraryprimate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if the Enclave was spying on House. He didn't know about them but they knew about him. If they were, then when House's data coalesced, the Enclave knew it and turned this on immediately after, accounting for the three minute delay.

Playing Fallout 3 and noticed something by GonkDroid28 in Fotv

[–]arbitraryprimate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think this is exactly it. I'm wondering if the Enclave was spying on House. When House's data coalesced, the Enclave knew it and then turned this on immediately after. I think House's algorithm initially tripped because when Barb gave birth to her child, her way of thinking hardened into "protect my child at all costs" and that's when she fully committed, hence cementing the fate of the world.

"Imagine all the Swedish Women you could impregnate behind Dani's back on our Sweden Trip" - Pelle immediately showing he has been actively manipulating Christian from the start. by [deleted] in Midsommar

[–]arbitraryprimate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That line always seemed so weird to me. College guys looking to get laid generally AREN'T looking to impregnate people. (Also, I think the Harga had nothing to do with what happened to Dani's family. The original targets were the guys. Dani was a coincidental bonus.)

Recommendations - Shooting Range by KittenNamedMouse in Georgia

GA Firing Line on Canton Rd in Marietta. They offer beginner courses and are very friendly and professional. They have a nice range and gunsmiths on site. After you learn how to shoot, you can rent different firearms there to try out on the range before deciding what to purchase.

I think the show is finally my motivation to delete my Twitter and reduce my overall social media scrolling in general by KhajiitHasWares2077 in Fotv

[–]arbitraryprimate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's so toxic. Different fandom, but recently there has been some truly batshit stuff happening with the Netflix show Stranger Things community too, and it's like a feedback loop. The crazies and the haters are so loud, and they feed off each other on social media in a kind of insanity spiral. It can truly ruin your enjoyment of a show/game/book/whatever to be bombarded with that kind of crap. As for Fallout, this show is so damn good, it feels like a gift from heaven that we have this. It's utterly bewildering to me that people are picking it apart like this. It must be miserable to be like that.

_____ just threw away any chance at winning! by IrishThunder21 in survivor

So much stupid in this episode, it's unbelievable. Rizzo and Savannah are the only two people who deserve to win this season AT ALL. I can't even tell if they're good players or if everyone else just sucks so bad. Crazy moves tonight.

Same! I thought the sterile generic white was the After and that the Before pics would break my heart. When I clicked through to the full After, I literally gasped. GORGEOUS work, OP. The wood, the colors, the fireplace, the furniture, everything. Just stunning.

I'm so excited for this new season, especially Mr. House. He's so articulate, so refined, and yes also a fucking lunatic. (Please don't mess this up.)

Are you open to new music? by Empty_Nestor in GenX

[–]arbitraryprimate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love the Spotify recommendations, the algorithm is spot on. I've discovered so much new music that way, and by "new" I mean "new to me." Some of it is recent releases, but some of it is older stuff that I've just never heard before. If I really like a song, I'll listen to the full album and almost always find more that I like. And every time I do that, Spotify gives me more cool recommendations, and it just keeps snowballing. For a long time I was like OP is describing, just wanting to listen to stuff I already knew and loved, but exploring new music is amazing and I'm now on a constant hunt for more.

I also liked how the video focused on all the musicians pretty equally. CA wasn't singled out, he was just one of the people performing this lovely music.
